Mr. Bodwin Quotes In Beloved

Although this quote isn’t directly stated to or from the main characters, in the novel Beloved, by Toni Morrison, Sethe and Beloved; Mr. Bodwin, a minor character, had discussed his memory of 124 which was expected to be tragic but instead was the polar-opposite. I feel like this quote is very ambiguous to the novel’s theme of memory/past and not just this specific chapter where ,Mr. Bodwin explain his experience at 124. “Perhaps is was his destination that turned his thoughts to time” (Morrison 146). This quote is obviously talking about time but time in the sense of experience and destination being closer to whatever thoughts had been gathered up by Mr. Bodwin. This is ambiguous to the whole novel by Beloved being more of a rememory to Sethe
