Over the course of the past two semesters I have been studying under Paul Johnston in an effort to better my skills as a recording engineer, mixing engineer and producer. From the beginning, I didn’t have a clear outcome for what I had hoped to accomplish by the end of the course. This was the source of some problems for me because there were some moments where I felt like I was flying blind. Starting down a path with no clear end is difficult after all. I didn’t have a set goal for myself other than learning all I could from Paul, which is a broad goal. That being said, I learned from a lot about myself because of it. I also learned a lot from Paul.
Paul had me start by working through Audio Production and Critical Listening: Technical Ear Training by Jason Corey. I didn’t get as far as I would have liked but I worked a lot on the EQ Practice Module software included with the book. The software has four practice

The sessions took place at The Audio Department, and since most of my experience in the studio happened at MacEwan it was good to have the exposure to something new and different. After all my experience working on session at MacEwan, I was pleased to discover how well the knowledge I possessed about signal flow translated to other studios. This increased my confidence in my skills as an engineer. In a similar fashion to the Jean Nicolas Trio sessions, I focused on how Paul was working with the band as a producer. Paul also got me to do rough mixes for a number of tunes. It was a great learning experience once the initial fear of making a mistake subsided and I began moving faders instead of just thinking about moving them. On the whole, I gained a lot of hands-on real life experience from working with Paul on this record and gained confidence when it comes to how to run a studio session. The experience also led to me getting an internship at the
To ensure the wireless signal is transmitted to every corner of the office space I recommend routers set-up with 4 directional antennas and a centralized Omni-directional antenna. The use of 2.4 GHz routers will increase data transmission speed 460-600 Mbps and provide 11 channels per router to support decrease in network collisions and prevent data packet from being dropped (Lazar, n.d.). All computing devices must be equipped with latest Windows 10 for business and use VPN tunnels to remotely connect and send print jobs to the Austin location. In addition, all workstations must manually be configured with the latest printer drivers to recognize the device.

I clicked “New” and began. Immediately, a blank page appeared and was ready for me type in. I started working on a project for my C++ programming class. The instructions of the project seemed simple; I had to create an interface for a vending machine. To some people, this sounds difficult, but to me, its a problem waiting to be solved.
The "Challenge: Expand Our Circle" in this course was very enjoyable. Most of the movies that were played were movies I would have never thought about watching. A few of these movies touched my heart and made me quite emotional. Also, a few of the movies dealt with quite a bit of cultural tensions which made the movie interesting to watch. Before this class, I would have never paid much attention to the music in the movies and how much they connect with the scenes in the movies.
it teaches you a lot’’ (43 years) Participant 2 (RP-C) said: I was irregularly playing with my team because the coach was overly enthusiastic, he made us do too much and I had fatigue all the time. I have been regular for the past seven months ever since we had a new coach. …….she listens, understands and approachable (29 years)
1Dear Principal Molony, The donated money should be used in the eight grade math and reading classrooms because it will improve the focus and attention of the students. The students' self esteem will go up which will let them participate and do more to benefit the classrooms. They will also be less antsy because they will be focused on work, and not worrying about their uncomfortable seats. Here is what the seats are going to be like: there will be three couches, four to five bean bags, three wiggle seats, one recliner and two big tables the wiggle seats will go on the table chairs.
My learnings this week is about letting myself play every now and then, how uncomfortable Hyde makes me, and that “failing” is more than a failure. On Tuesday I was able to help and participate twice in the workshop Devon Damonte planned for us. After the Monday before and the morning of left me feeling incredibly stressed this initially filled me with worry about how my peers would behave and how smoothly things were running. After meeting Devon and setting up I realized that he has a very kind and calming demeanor which seemed to rub off on everyone throughout the day as he talked about 16mm film and projectors.
My overall thoughts of this project were a little negative at first, if I’m being honest. I didn’t like the idea of having to find a person to shadow, follow them around for about eight hours, and then write a research paper about my it. But, by the time the first shadowing was over, I was excited to go back. I observed great things and learned a lot. My final thoughts now are great.
While taking this course I came to a realization of many things, some being good and some being a bit disheartening. While I learned many things that can benefit me in my future career as an educator, the career I always fabled in my head as a YouTuber quickly diminished after realizing I’m vastly more awkward in recording. The lesson plan was painstakingly awkward for me to do, though it definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone and into a realization that I need to be more comfortable in front of any audience because that’s (hopefully) where my career will take me. Before taking this class I had no real prior knowledge on lenses or most things that we covered or at least not by the specific names that were given. Gender Lens, Multiple Perspectives,
For the second concert report, I went to go see the Paul Di Blasi Band at the Culver City Hotel. This was actually the second time I had attended this venue, it was decorated similarity to last time. The venue was very vintage in terms of its decor, it truly had an old school feel, it made you fee like you were in the 1920s. The hotel was dimly lit, and had a jazzy and supper club atmosphere. Almost everyone was dressed up but also casual, and the music was perfect for this setting.
I hoped that it would be a class that would teach me new techniques for writing. At the same time, I was concerned that I might not learn anything of consequence in the class. I was already aware (from results in other classes) that there were improvements I needed to make in my writing. I was uncertain, however, if this class would help. Now, at the end of the course, I feel that I have improved as a writer and have had a positive experience.
I loved this opportunity because it showed me who I really am and that to learn and take new experiences you need to take the risk to exposing who you are. If I believed in myself and showed confidence I was going to be better. From this I make new connections learned new skills. I saw things with a different perspective, and I found new interests. I decided what I wanted my career to be, what I know will make my success and be proud of whom I am.
It was a remarkable experience for me to experience in a few minutes what these individuals go through daily for the rest of their lives. What did I learn? During the simulation, we were assigned different stations to start; my first station was to read an article while listening to the voices.
I would surly recommend seeing this concert again. It was a free concert, which is always a plus for many people. It also showcased the abilities of the talent that young musicians hold. I sat next to a gentleman who was in attendance with me, and began to converse with him during intermission because he seemed extremely moved by the first half of the concert. Once he introduced himself to me he informed me that this was his first concert ever where musical instruments were presented in this way.
