Although motivation and determination can get one far, a time still comes when having a job in college is a problem in some shape or form, like for Student A. Contrastingly, Student B, who is without a job in college, would not encounter work-related problems on this particular level. The most common obstacles in college are time, stress, and social life. Unlike Student A, Student B, who has the opportunity to study without limitations from a job, can undertake daily activities, attend classes, and study sessions. Study sessions typically take place during the evening, possibly the same time Student A is at work. Student A has a choice: either catch up with schoolwork by losing sleep or fall behind just to rest properly. Of course, being a student in college, the wise choice would be to pick catching up on schoolwork. Students are being woken up in the middle of a deep sleep. Being an alumnus of Melrose High School, I also remember the exhaustion I felt during the week. This can be detrimental to not only the learning but also their health. Sleep deprivation increases risk taking behavior, substance abuse, and impedes judgment and decision making ability. Many districts have taken part in this time shift.
In “Getting into College” (2014) by John Langan, the author points out stresses of attending college. It's demanding picking a major, when you're not sure if you're going to get a position in the field you want to pursue after graduating. In addition, how flexible would you have to be to manage work, study and get good grades but at the same time be able to pay rent and bills. On top, what about your social life; yet going to parties to stay relevant and passing your class. Lastly, what about after graduation and all that gathering of money waiting to be payed off, which limits and prevents you from getting new possessions.

It is extremely difficult to balance a job with all that work and studying. while in college students have to make money some way, but the only problem with that is time management. everybody likes like buying new clothes, jewelry and personal items. people spend their time in college barely getting by, partying and wasting their time.
Pharinet explains that everyone in today’s society is expected to attend college, even if it is not for them. Many students struggle with facing the academic and financial challenges college brings, not to mention the costs of book and other living expenses that many young adults do not consider when deciding to attend college. College can cost a student hundreds of dollars with just tuition alone. This also a reason as to why college students find themselves working full-time jobs while attending college as a full-time student to help pay for some of those extra living expenses. “Working full time and attending college full time often results in the suffering of the student’s mind, body, and grades especially”, says Pharinet.
Another major problem for college students is money. A study has been done in “Ohio University states that seven out of ten college students in the United States, are worried about their Financial” (Sonawane). According to the International Business Time they did a study that the “National Student Financial Wellness showed that about 60% of college students were stressed out because they don 't have enough money to pay for studies another forty percent were worried about having not enough money to pay for expense and students abandon their studies because of debt”(Sonawane). Another problem for college students is getting a job. People that are just getting out of college usually have to get jobs most of them already have jobs but they might need more money so they would have to get two or three jobs.
There are a lot of obstacles students face when trying to college and going to college, sometimes these obstacles involve how counseling and emotional support is out of the question and other reasons are fall into the category of not having too much money to afford school or if they could afford college through scholarships they still struggle with meeting their basic needs. Sleep deprivation is the lack of sleep needed to function to full potential. While college is known for staying up all night, and cramming for exams, this term of sleep deprivation is starting to take a serious toll. Over the years the sleeping patterns of students attending college and universities has changed dramatically. So, we called this situation as sleep deprivation which means a condition where people not get enough sleep. We are in the same shoes, so no worries. A research from Brown University stated that, from a survey they conducted to a group of college student, 11% student have a good sleep but the rest which is 73% from the same study were found to have a sleep problem.

In college time management helps to ensure that students are keeping up with school work and staying on top of everything going on in their life. Time management is being able to get work done in a timely manner without distractions, procrastination or overexerting yourself. For me the hardest one of these to overcome has been distractions.
