Reading “Othello the Moor of Venice” was a very interesting storyline. It bleatingly emphasizes the concept of race throughout the plot. Written by Shakespeare, thus is considered one of his best pieces of work. The story has been remastered and used in a variety of different contexts and published in movies and has inspired many plays. This play was written surrounding four characters; Othello, Desdemona, Lago, and Cassio. Out breaking a theme of jealousy, revenge, racism, and love. Othello was either an African or Arabic general for the Venetian army. He was known as Moorish and was much respected, also the husband of Desdemona. Othello had a sidekick in Cassio and Lago was more of a colleague from the army. Lago was the most unfaithful out of the other characters. Having a spicy character situation like this, is one of the many reasons the story has been continuously performed. This private prep school, was filled with upper class students and families, and then there was Odin. Odin was a young African American male from the inner city. Having been one of the most popular students, he also was in a relationship with the most popular girl at school. This caused for a very vivid and Hollywood like life for Odin. In the eyes of a few he had everything you can want. This struck up the jealousy of one of Odin’s closest friends. Now I know why they say keep your friends close, but your enemies closer. Odin never saw it coming, the outbreak began we he was awarded MVP of basketball team. The coach stated that he loved Odin like his own son.
