In the city of Boulder, Colorado in the early hours of December 26, 1996 Patsy Ramsey found a three page ransom note for her 6 year old daughter JonBenet Ramsey. The note was found on the back staircase of the house and asked for 118,000\$, the same amount her father had received as a Christmas bonus that year (S.B.T.C.). Later that day the 6 year old was found dead in her basement by her father. Her death was shrouded in trauma as no one was certain if she died of blunt force trauma or strangulation when the ransom note said that she would be decapitated, or why, if she was being help for ransom, less than 12 hours later her father found her in the basement , dead. When all the details are looked at and inspected it becomes clear that she was not being held hostage which raises the question, Who killed her? and why. So, over the course of my paper I will be discussing the different people who might have killed her and what their motives may have been. Along with the different suspects I will be covering the investigation and how different theories of her death came around. Some of the most popular theories is that her mother or brother killed her in a fit of rage, and the murder was covered by her family. Another popular theory is that some one did …show more content…
after the body was found the crime scene was heavily compromised which resulted in evidence being compromised or destroyed. The way that the body was found and how she died is the first major reason that the case remains unsolved, as it is unclear if the cause of death was strangulation, or blunt force trauma to the head. Another confusing lead is that jonbenet had eaten a single piece of pineapple, what makes the clue confusing is that no one in the house recalled eating pineapple, despite the fact that a bowl of pineapple was found in the kitchen with Burke and Patsy's finger prints on
In the controversial court case, the murder of JonBenet Ramsey, many believe the family happens to be the killers; however, the court show take their focus away from the Ramsey family. The neighbors said the Ramsey’s spoiled their children and raised them the best they could, but others say different. The majority of the people that know about this case have their minds set on the parents being the murderers, but there is other evidence that could steer law enforcement away from the family. Evidence was found that night that could show the family did it, but other evidence possibly shows someone else. Since the murder of JonBenet Ramsey, the finding of a ransom note demanding $118,000, random DNA tests, and confession by an individual have

Patsy is buried next to JonBenét, in Atlanta, Georgia, where the family lived before moving to Colorado. After looking at all of the evidence provided by the JonBenet Ramsey murder case, and it’s suspects, John and Patsy Ramsey, John Mark Karr, and Burke Ramsey, all the evidence points to Burke Ramsey as the killer. To begin with, JonBenet Ramsey was born on August 6, 1990 in Atlanta, Georgia, she was a 6 year old beauty pageant who lived in Boulder, Colorado, and was the daughter of John and Patsy Ramsey. On December 26th, the day after Christmas, she was found by her murdered in the basement of her own home by her father. A blow to the head had fractured her skull; she had been strangled with a cord that was tied around her neck and was tightened with a garrote. (Casarez J.)Till today, the murder remains unsolved and investigators continue
According to statistics, 92 percent of kids who are murdered at their house are killed by someone in their family (Newton, The Encyclopedia of Unsolved Crimes, 313). This suggests the same for JonBenet’s death. When police arrived at the Ramsey home to investigate, the noticed the “peculiarities in the behavior of the grieving parents” and the fact that Patsy had on full makeup and her hair was nicely done (Newton 313). After further investigation of the evidence, the detectives uncovered that the ransom note was written with a pen and paper from Patsy Ramsey’s home office. Oddly enough, the strange amount of money that was demanded in the ransom was identical to John Ramsey’s bonus check (young jonbenet)

A bonechilling, mystery, murder took place in a peaceful/small town in Boulder, Colorado, taken place on Christmas night shook the nation. Beauty queen, pageant winner, adorable, innocent JonBenet Ramsey was killed in the family home on the night of December 25th, 1996. Jonbenet was found with a device around her neck that straggled her, stun gun marks on her left side of her body, hands tied above her head, and tape over her mouth. Later autopsies found that the girl was bashed over her head leaving an 8 ½ inch fracture. Then found later on that Jonbenet was sexually assaulted.
This ransom note was oddly two and a half pages long in length, the shocking part is that this note was written with a notebook pad and pen from the Ramsey’s home. Specifically, Patsy Ramsey’s notebook which still had the imprints of the writing. This means that the note was written during the scene. Former Boulder Police Chief Mark Beckner who headed JonBenét’s murder investigation, said that experts had never heard of a ransom note of this length. Odd enough, the ransom note demanded 118,000 dollars in return of JonBenét.
Viewing over the evidence the police said that she walked in, saw her husband vulnerable and drunk hits him over the head kills him and tells a lie to her friends. Then takes the pan washes it for her fingerprints to leave, then puts it on the stove claiming it was on when she walked in. Her friends in a drunken state believed her of course. They panicked the called the police claiming that he fell off the top of the stairs. Just like in all murders there is always a reason to why they suspect is not guilty.
On August 7, 2015 a young women by the name of Heather Maples was found dead at The Cove Apartments, where she lived at. After the retired detective gave Twyla some information, weeks later his demeanor changed and he said he couldn 't help her anymore. What happened? A young newspaper reporter covered the story of the 40 year vigil held this past July. This reporter seemed very concerned then and had hopes of helping solve this case. Now she will not even return Twyla 's phone messages.
The murder of Jonbenet Ramsey is a really depressing and mysterious at that. The murder was extremely brutal, she had wounds on her face, a cracked skull, duct tape on her mouth, she was tied up, and she had a garrote around her neck. According to the documentary we watched she was hit in the head with a flashlight and then strangled with a garrote. It was expected that she snatched a piece of pineapple from her brother’s bowl in which he hit her with a flashlight because of it, and she was still alive so it was most likely the parents got in on it because they didn’t want to be filed for abuse and jailed so they strangled her to death and put a blanket over her body, breaking a window and adding a ransom note to make it seem like someone broke in.
