I did my ride-along on Friday October 23, 2015. My ride- along was fours hours long from 8 am- 12pm. I rode with the NAUPD with Officer Jake Brady. We did not get that many crisis calls. There was an officer in training, so whenever we got a call, the officer in training had to receive it. However, one of the calls that I got to partake in was a call about a person identified as a sex offender that was living on campus. We went to Ernest Calderón Learning Community because that is where the call came from. We received the call around 9:45 am. Officer Brady and myself walked around the inside of the building on each floor, as well as the outside of the hall. The officer in training and his trainer were with us as well. However, after about twenty minutes, there was no one that matched the description of the sex offender. One of the biggest safety issues with this call is the safety of females living on campus. If there is a sex offender living around them, and is still living near them, these females have a target on them, and could become a victim of sexual assault. The safety of the campus is an important issue from this call. As a school, NAU wants the safety of the students, and if …show more content…
If the NAUPD keeps receiving calls due to bicycle’s accidents three times a day from this one spot, I think NAU needs to fix this problem. Either they should fine the bump and get rid of it, or put a safety sign warning them about the bump. This issue will continue affecting other bikers, and skateboards (long-boarders) too. Also, if there were cars driving and the biker flew off his bike into the middle of the street, the biker injuries could have been worst. He could have gotten ran over, and possible could have been killed from the impact. This accident could have been worst, and if this safety issue is not fixed, in the future an accident like this could
On 6/19/16 at 2341 hours my partner, Officer Acosta #0044, and I were working patrol assigned to unit 3A22. We responded to a radio call of “shots fired” in the area of 101 W. Washington Bl. Prior to our arrival, Sergeant Gomez #3196 arrived on scene and advised that there was a female, victim of a possible gunshot in front of 101 W. Washington Blvd. Sgt Gomez requested the Pasadena Fire Department (PFD), Rescue Ambulance, (RA) to respond. PFD stated they would stage until code-4.
Chief David L. Perry is the current Chief of Police at Florida State University (FSU), and formerly in Albany, GA and Clemson University. Chief Perry describes many situations that arise around a collegiate campus and what measures are being taken to ensure the safety of the FSU campus. The major emphasis throughout the presentation was on safety of the FSU campus. Early on in the presentation Chief Perry made the statement that a plentiful amount occurs behind the scenes that the students are unaware of.
He said that in todays time, that is one of the worst crimes going on here recently. He also works with the University and Robinson County Sheriff’s Office. The relationship between them two are both very good, if they ever need help with anything he can call either one of those places. Captain Ed said he would recommend anyone who wants to pursue a career in the law enforcement, to get a four year degree or some kind of education because it helps out your resume when trying to get a better position in the agency. Also to do all of the training you can, because that will help you out in the long run.
Have you ever had some you looked up to? Someone that inspired you to do things? Well, that person would be considered your role model. A role model is a person that is looked up to by others. A specific example of this is in Nazario’s
Accident? No, this was a choice. One might defend saying that they were scared and that they were trying to remove the threat. This is a legitimate argument, but it is still flawed, by saying this they are denying the fact that they were okay with running over a

RP instructed Mr. Carroll to come to the office at 0900. Also, RP told Mr. Carroll that he can’t sleep at this address due to the fact that it’s a school less than 500ft of the address. Mr. Carroll stated that he was aware of that and he goes to his mother house to take a shower. On 02/28/17, RP received a message from Mr. Carroll’s aunt stating that he does not have a ride to get to Probation and Parole. Officer Williams, Dagley and RP responded to Mr. Carroll’s grandmother house across the street from the above address (443 North Street Milford, DE 19963).
Today I’m going to be talking about my trip to Durango, Mexico. I live in Dacono, Colorado so the drive to Colorado to Durango takes two days. My grandparents and I, stay in Mexico for about two weeks and a half and we leave Friday morning like at 4:00am and we arrive to the border of El Paso, Texas like at 3:00pm. After we’ve arrived to Texas we make a pit stop to go use the restroom and to also eat because once we leave Texas and into Mexico, its going to be a long while before we get to eat and use the restroom again. Once we leave Texas and enter Mexico our second destination is Chihuahua, Mexico.
On 02/08/2017, I, William Van Scoter, was working as a police officer for the Wichita State University Police Department, in Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas. At approximately 1520 hours I was told to interview a woman who was to believed to have been sexually assaulted. I arrived at the University Police Department's lobby and was met by a female and two males. The female was later identified as Terry Giang. Giang was going to be interview by Detective Jeff Rider
It looks scary how vulnerable the survivor can be at the time of assault. However, as long as the matter of violence is associated, the students at college campuses are safer than their non-college mates. Some training and education has been administrated to the students for awareness about the violence and sexual assaults. Even, with increased training and education, most of the college campuses have much longer way to go for decreasing the intensity and number of assaults and the incidents have immense negative impact on the society and people around us.
The issue is how far should colleges go to keep campuses safe? Well for the students’ sake, colleges must go to an extreme to keep campuses safe. As a college student, it is import to keep the campus safe for me and yet alone everyone else. With the number of shootings that have been happening lately,
Have you ever just had something that meant so much to you, that you would do anything to not loose it? If that's the case then let me continue. It was a hot, sunny day in Dominican Republic, August. As I was on my way to my Grandfather's house. I would never forget this time, I went to Dominican Republic just to visit my Grandfather, thinking it was going to be amazingly fun.
These crimes have happened because there is not enough safety on the campus of Pittsburg State University. Even though there may be more costs to adding in more lights, , or even adding apps it can save them from a lawsuit in the long run. Students can feel unsafe walking around on many different college campuses.
HONK! BEEP! SQUEAKK! Every which way of me, cars are honking and breaks are squeaking but I don’t care because I see it, the best amusement park ever… Cedar Point!
Have you ever been in an environment that you are supposed to feel safe in, then that safety gets taken away? When students go to college, they are trying to gain an education that can better them in some type of way. However, when you are on a college campus, safety can be compromised. Then, a place that is suppose to feel like home, may bring up feelings such as discomfort or fear. Rape has been a big problem on the University of Illinois at Champaign Urbana’s campus since before my generation.
