In order to achieve a suitable set-up in my pantry to support plant-based cooking, I cleaned the shelves off, wiped them down, and checked for past due dates before restocking. I eliminated the processed cereals and soups, as well as, the olive, pecan and grape seed oils. Finally, I replenished the shelves using some items I already had and adding some new ones too. On the top shelf from left to right, I have 100% maple syrup, honey and molasses, Basmati and Jasmine brown rice, an assortment of canned beans (Garbanzos, black, pinto, & Cannellini) and tomatoes, and natural almond butter. With the second shelf I added citrus champagne, rice and aged balsamic vinegars. Included also on this shelf are red and baby Dutch yellow potatoes, Medjool
Sticking out like a sore thumb because you look different, feel different, and, are different from the rest, is an awkward and belittling feeling. As if you’re a needle in a haystack, you are so small and alone, even with the people that you are supposed to find similarities, you are different from them. Frying Plantain written by Zalika Reid-Benta follows a young Kara Davis through several essays over a decade of her eventful youth. Author Zalika Reid-Benta explores the themes of systematic and generational trauma in our children by putting the reader in the shoes of Jamaican-Canadian Kara Davis, giving non-minorities a point of view on what life is like for someone dealing with these traumas. School can be a challenge for many kids, especially
On a cold and blustery November morning, I was walking around the Newberry farm searching for the perfect pumpkin. The farm owner, Mr. Johnson was welcoming and incredibly kind to allow me to wander wherever I wanted to on his farm. While walking, suddenly, I came upon the most perfectly shaped pumpkin. It was big and round and I knew it was Mr. Johnson’s best.
I burst into my household at the finishing moment on the day that concludes school. I told my “salam” Which is farsi for “hi”. I peered out my bay window like a cat trying to catch a mouse. I saw a heap of people I had never met outside, implanting plants into the ground. They were like surgeons, giving their patients heart transplants.
The downstairs old lady must be baking a pumpkin pie this evening. The entire apartment building smells disgustingly sweet. Knocking on her door and screaming at her to leave the building with her stupid pumpkin pie but the idea seemed to be.. too aggressive regarding the society’s standard on people’s social interactions. Looking normal and amicable to the neighbors was significant to stay undercover. I bet she used a better quality of pumpkin than that she used last year since her pumpkin pie smells extra rich this year; my mother also baked pumpkin pie every year.
When you think of Gordon Ramsay, what do you really picture? Do you think of his anger lined face spewing the hate he has into his incompetent chefs faces? Or do you picture his caring and loving side that he has towards his family that is deep down inside of him? Ramsay’s life before was hell, but now he’s a successful chef and cookbook author. It didn’t start out that great for Ramsay as a child.
I was always on my tiptoes because of my love for Mitzi FItzsimmons. She was 5 feet even and I was 4 foot eleven. So whenever I would see her I would get up on my very tip toes so I could try to be at eye level or just a little bit taller. And to address your second question, everyone has something they do when the see or hear someone they are really fond of.
Hard Boiled It was midnight. There was a silent sound coming from a corner in the ally way. I was a was detective on a case. I cant tell you what i was doing

Food Memoir: The Killing of a Hog Growing up on the countryside in Louisiana is one of the best experiences of my childhood. My grandfather would always go hunting, giving me the opportunity to eat various types of wildlife. There would be times when I could not stand the thought of eating certain animals, but then there were times when I could not pass up the opportunity. Even though, I was afraid to go near most animals at that time I still had a love for eating wildlife.
Although I am a picky eater chocolate chip cookies is something I always enjoyed eating as long as I can remember. I never second guessed whether I should try it or not I just did. Oats Beyond the Meal A lot of preppers websites love to tell you to store grains, and rice, and flour, and salt etc. I noticed that they really don’t give a lot of fact about the foods they recommend. This happens to be my biggest pet peeve of all prepper sites. I am that annoying girl at the front of the class “
I'm at the grocery store, watching this other kid try to win a prize from the claw machine when I hear my mom yell out for me to come over to her. I run back to aisle 7 to see my mom with a confused and stressed look on her face as she tried to figure out how to pay using her card and the people behind her slightly annoyed. I tried to tip toe to see what the machine said but ended up standing in the cart while my mom held it still as I interrupted what it asked to her. I press the buttons as she answers, trying to hurry to avoid irritating the people behind us. As we finished, I could hear my mom sigh of relief then we headed out.
……….?????? I was smashing everything into my suitcase. To get everything I need into the car. When my mom started pulling out of the driveway I rushed outside with my suitcase and finally threw everything I needed into the car. And we were off.
She started bringing her own jars to the grocery store and filling them from the bulk-section bins. She also began buying her vegetables and fruits from the “package-free” farmers’ market, all of which offered some unintended benefits. “By eliminating foods wrapped in packaging, I found that most of what I had been eating were food products and not actual food,” she says. “Eating fresh vegetables and fruits has left me feeling much healthier — mentally and physically.”
From the corner of my eye, I saw him engrossed in his thoughts. He was circling a large crate, noting the colors and sizes of its contents. After making his choice and gently tapping it, he yelled for me, flashing a gleeful smile, “Tina! Come here, listen to this!”
