Compassion plays an important role in our daily lives. It allows us to show love to others through acts of kindness. Anyone can demonstrate compassion, but true Christians show it the best. Mark 6:34 says, “When he went ashore he saw a great crowd, and he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. And he began to teach them many things.” This verse shows an example of Christ’s compassion and love for His people. Matthew 18:21-22 says, “Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times.” This verse is also a great example of Christ’s love for us. These verses show how we should treat others, and they give us a great example of how we should live our lives. I have experienced many examples of compassion in my life, and there are also many in The Witch of Blackbird Pond. In The Witch of Blackbird Pond, Kit is a great representation of compassion. In the story, she helps take care of Hannah and shows great kindness to her. By doing this, she was accused of witchcraft and put on trial in front of the whole town. It was shown many times in The Witch of Blackbird Pond, and it has been shown many times in my life. It may put people in uncomfortable situations, but it also allows others to experience God’s glory. Compassion demonstrates the way that God wants all of us to feel loved, and he wants us to know we are truly His children and creation. As Christians, we are supposed to lead others to Christ, and by showing compassion, you might do that very thing.
