Ray Bradbury is a well-known American mystery author that obtained a creative imagination from his childhood, and chased his dreams to become one of the most famous literary authors that ever lived. He was born on August 22, 1920, in Waukegan, Illinois. He is the son of Leonard Spaulding and Esther (Moberg) Bradbury. His father came from a family of newspaper editors and printers. He married Marguerite Susan McClure on September 27, 1947. He was raised in Los Angeles, California, practicing the religion of Unitarian Universalist. Growing up, his favorite writer was Edgar Allan Poe. In addition, he grew up in a tradition of words and wordsmithing.
