The Revolution of the 13 Colonies of America was truly revolutionary. A lot of change was brought about for the everyday lives of all kinds of the people. On document two, when talking of government and politics, the idea that government exists to help the people and that the government should get their power from the people that are affected by these laws and rules has never been considered. In all other countries at the time, including Britain, political power is instituted by blood. The Revolution had an effect on the classes of people. In document three, it is shown that different classes of people still interact. It shows people of different class enjoying a game together. As one man might have no shoes and rags, another might have a wig, suit, …show more content…
This is shown on document five. Some people thought that is was hypocritical to say that all men were created equal and yet have slaves with no rights just because they were black. Freed blacks were outraged that they were in a social stalemate. An angry african american who had full schooling and was valedictorian of his free school is on document six. He talks about how he cannot be employed because of his skin tone, and how he feels powerless in the world. Women did not have as much rights as men did back then, and an example of a displeased woman is on document seven, John Adams’ wife, Abigail Adams. She talks about respecting women as much as men, and how they have no voice in politics. Although it took about two hundred years, on document eight it showed that women officially gained the right the vote. The American Indians were given rights on document nine of land, rights and liberty. The American Indians were suspicious if the people that had one demanded their land are now truthfully giving it back and welcoming them as one of their own. An example of this is on document ten.
