Self-assessments help individuals understand and focus on their best qualities that are unique to them but also show awareness of the areas that are possible opportunities for growth. Self-assessments can be broken down and categorized with many options for results. When completing the self-assessment I discovered that my three areas of strength were demonstrating a willingness to understand the perspectives of others through verbal and non-verbal communication. Second, identifying and working towards personal goals. Lastly, demonstrating awareness of behavior and adjusting accordingly in response to changing situations. However, my three areas of improvement were writing communication that is organized and accurate reflecting appropriate terminology. Also, actively seeking feedback that is responsive, and modifies behavior according from others regarding performance. Third, managing my time effectively.

The strengths that were identified this time taking the assessment were all characteristics that I strongly identify with. The most recent assessment showed that my strengths are, in order, Futuristic, Context, Relator, Restorative, and Analytical. This is in comparison to my 2014 results of Includer, Harmony, Consistency, Relator, and Analytical. My 2014 results were much more reflective of someone in the relationship building domain, something that I would actually consider myself only competent at, if not a weakness of mine. I am solid in those aspects, but thought that it overestimated my capabilities

This year I set out to improve this very important skill. Time management is a skill that will be important all throughout your life. In the past I use to just barely turn my assignments in by the deadline or even sometimes past it. I used a planner and reminders on my phone to help me with this. I was tired of always feeling rushed to finish assignments or even chores around my house that I googled ways to improve on not being distracted which contributed to my time management.
The explanation provided assisted me with understanding why I each strength was identified. For example, I was uncertain about my result restorative, by going into greater detail on this result, I was able to understand the concept better. After reviewing “Your Personalized Strengths Insight” (Gallup, n.d.,) section, I do believe restorative can be a personal strength for me. My personal results explained the reason I received the theme restorative for my strength stating, “You are motivated when your results are compared to those of others. This is one reason you routinely incorporate self-improvement activities into your life.

Many of us waste our time on things that are neither important nor necessary, instead of using that time for something of that is meaningful. To capitalize on the use of time management strategies and reach my Doctoral Business Administration (DBA) program goals. I will execute two specific time management strategies, for example, accessing and planning a weekly schedule while adjusting my daily schedule. Time management will help me maximize the use of my time and reach my ultimate DBA goals of completing each assignment.

Why am I going to lie? I do not have any system for managing time. To be honest, what I read on chapter 3 was totally new for me. I do things when I feel comfortable and full of energy; in other words, this is my ability for managing time, and I did not know that. Academic success is one of my greatest desires as a student athlete, above athletic success. For many reasons, participation in athletics has been the key factor of my athletic success. Athletics have challenged me in several different ways, but this has been an important part of my need to challenge myself academically. I challenge myself by taking rigorous courses that will benefit me in the future. Athletics have endowed me with the drive and determination that directly translates over to my academic success.
Academic Evaluation The first six weeks of middle school have been challenging and amazing to experience. It has been hard to transition with all this newness and with Mr. Zekri leaving. Now, I have to be more responsible of myself and where I leave my possessions. Also, I am still getting back in the groove from summer and the amount of work we have doesn’t exactly help that. Contour lines in science has also been a burden... for remembering where the differences are between a contour line and an index contour or a contour interval is not easy.
Time management: Time management is a very crucial component if you are willing to have a productive lifestyle. To be honest, I have always had issues with managing my time efficiently. This problem had become a huge obstacle once I got into college. Thus, attending a lecture that focuses on time management helped me a lot with this problem by introducing me to different aspects related to time management: planning, SMART goals, and important/urgent matrix. Learning to make a specific plan for my daily tasks and make a to-do list to make my day as productive as possible is something very helpful which was advised to me by the instructor of this lecture Mr. Irfan.
