Firstly the Industrial Revolution began due to the primary focus of the 19th century being economic growth and expansion. The Industrial Revolution was essentially an era of new manufacturing procedures and new manufactured goods. This period exposed us to a notable “great inventor” who was called Eli Whitney. He gave us the popular invention of the cotton gin which made the process of separating seeds from cotton easier and less time consuming. Whitney also introduced us to interchangeable parts which made the creation of weapons quicker and cheaper.
The Industrial Revolution was a period of significant technological, economic, and social change that occurred between the 18th and 19th centuries in Europe and North America. It was marked by the widespread adoption of new manufacturing processes, machinery, and power sources, leading to the growth of factories and mass production. This period saw the emergence of new industries, such as textiles, iron, and coal mining, and it revolutionized transportation with the development of steam-powered engines and railroads.
The Industrial Revolution caused an increase in educational growth in communities. For example,
Arguably fueled by the economic necessity of many women, the Industrial Revolution was an episode in history which can be credited for the recognition of modern cities today. Though the Industrial Revolution ushered in an era of innovative machinery, increased work production, and a society which was more interconnected than ever, the Industrial Revolution for the most part, had very limited benefits on the lives of women. Prior to the Industrial Revolution, mass-production factories were singular. However, in the late eighteenth century, a period of major industrialization blossomed, resulting in the mechanization of agriculture, textile manufacturing, and a revolution in transportation. The factory systems developed during this time period
(Document 2). This proves the fact that mechanization was the most reformed aspect of the Industrial Revolution . After a period of time, there are newer inventions used in the labor force; thus, creating a new factory system of jobs. This causes a change of who is working in the workforce as well. Women and children are also participating in the labor force since there is a need for them to do the tasks.
The Industrial Revolution shaped the growing economy at the time in many positive and negative aspects. The Industrial Revolution took place during the late 1800’s and the early 1900’s and was considered to be the “New Industrial.” Many things were brought to the economy at the time due to this occurring; some in which being machinery, technology, production of goods, and even performance. The economy was not the only thing greatly affected by this revolution but the farmers, the working-class, and the middle-class were also affected to a deep extent.
The Industrial Revolution created to change that ruined people's lives. They worried about financing, getting rid of jobs, and overworking the workers, those are all certain ways people were affected by the industry
One of the major subjects that the industrial revolution had affected was the social structure. Throughout history, there have been different “social classes” in which people were classified in. During the industrial revolution, two new classes arose. These two were known as the “middle class” and the “working class”. Towns kept expanding into cities, and more people in America converted to working at home or at farms to working in big factories.
However there were some positives about the Industrial Revolution; which people will most likely argue about. For example, an insignificant amount of factories gave their workers an education, as well as a satisfying wage to put food on the table. Also in document three Andrew Ure states that no worker has been beaten during working hours. In addition, no worker has ever felt exhausted after a day of work.
It transformed daily life for Americans more than any other historical event in the history of the United States (The Industrial Revolution in the United States, n.d.). As industry grew in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, more skilled workers were needed. Because of this, the focus of the education system shifted toward practical skills like reading, writing, and math (Beno, 2019). Vocational training classes were also developed so that students could learn how to do certain jobs (Beno, 2019; Isler,
The Industrial Revolution began in England in the 1700’s within the textile industry. The Industrial Revolution was the transition to new manufacturing processes by using different machines. Before the Industrial Revolution people made different things by hand or simple tools. For example, people wove textiles by hand, and after the Industrial Revolution machines were used instead. In result of the revolution there was the cottage industry, agriculture, harsh labor within the system of factory- based manufacturing that included complex machinery, the growth of technology, new resources and the development of transportation. Also the series inventions that increased the production of manufactured goods, which then led to the increased size in the population. A series of the positive effects that came from the industrialization mostly came from the factory owners and the individuals who were above the middle class.
Before it truly began, men and women were working inside of their household. When it started, women were put into factories and it changed their whole lifestyle. They were used to working in their house, cooking and cleaning and taking care of everyone. Women were always seen as less powerful than men which just enabled factory owners to take advantage from the start. They were used to doing jobs from the demands of others.
