She states “A year after Adnan was arrested and the case came to trial, Jay walked up to the witness stand. There’s a moment when Adnan muttered something to him” (45). By Adnan calling Jay pathetic he showed that he couldn’t believe Jay would rat him out. This incident shows that Adnan is a liar and is mad at Jay for going to the police, showing that he is guilty. Even after controlling himself through the whole case he snapped when he saw the man that betrayed him. The person who killed Hae on January 13th, 1999 is Adnan Syed. He was assisted by Jay Wilds. Jay admits several times to assisting Adnan in Hae’s murder. While getting interviewed Jay says that he helped Adnan get to track practice and dig a hole for Hae’s body (7-8). This proves that Jay assisted Adnan in murdering Hae and that they were both involved in the crime. In episode two of Serial the state claims that Adnan is the one that did it. Sarah states on behalf of the state “And the motive the State supplied, the basis for the whole thing, was that after Hae broke up with Adnan, he couldn’t accept it. He was so wounded by her, and so furious, that he decided to kill her” (21). This shows that there was a strong motive as to why Adnan killed Hae. This proves that Adnan was the one who killed her. Jay and Adnan both committed a serious crime. Adnan killed Hae with the help from
On March 31, 1995, 20-year-old spanish popstar, Selena Quintanilla was shot and killed at a Days Inn near Corpus Cristi, Texas. Yolanda Saldivar was found guilty for the murder of Selena on October 23, 1995. Yolanda was selenas fan club and boutique manager, over the course of selenas career, they became best friends. Yolanda claimed that she was not guilty, stating that she was not meaning to kill her best friend, but that she was using the weapon as a threat to get selena not to leave her.
Jay provides a plethora of information for the state that is just credible enough to ensure that Adnan would be convicted and not himself. Jay protecting himself in court is why Adnan receives such an unfair
Jay’s story is that he helped Adnan bury Haes body, thus Adnan killed Hae. He lays out their whole day to the cops, but his story consistently changes. He told the cops one story during the taped interviews and then drops parts of it during trial, every time he tells the story details shift. One person’s story should not be enough evidence that someone committed a murder, there needs to be hard physical proof behind it. The state uses Jays story as proof that Adnan must have killed Hae, but people lie under oath all the time and Jay could easily be framing Adnan.
Criminal law investigators did say they recovered some of the rounds that had been shot from outside the bedroom window. While Holland 's two-year-old daughter survived the incident, relatives say they found the toddler covered in her mother 's blood. Investigators believe she may have seen the gunman. The child spent hours alone with her dead mother after being shot to death over the Fourth of July weekend. According to neighbor Mark Baker, he called the victim a great person who never caused trouble.
This is important because if Adnan was very late to track practice, then his teammates would have noticed and remembered that day, so why is Jay telling a story to make Adnan look even worse? Therefore, if Adnan’s case was filled with many lies, who could have been telling the actual truth about Adnan? What seems to be true is everything that proves he’s innocent because it seems to make more sense in the
Jay doesn’t know Nisha and apparently Nisha is another witness who recall that Adnan had killed Hae Lee. Nisha Call happens at 3:32pm. Smack in the middle of the afternoon. The prosecution makes much of this call at closing, and I can see why.(Ep.6). Furthermore, this shows witnesses claiming to hear about the same thing about Adnan Syed.
He stated it himself whilst describing their relationship to Sarah from the prison phones, and Christina said that this should have been brought up during the investigation as a more “troubling” aspect of Jay and Adnans relationship. In

Serial goes through the alibis that were presented and weren’t present at the trial.
Adnan Syed Innocent or Guilty? If asked 12 weeks ago, it would have been so simple, but now a question that once seemed straight forward, is so complex. Sarah Koenig reports on the mystery, that all started on January 13, 1999, when an 18-year-old girl by the name of Hae Min Lee went missing. One month later, on February 9th, her body was found in Leakin Park, in Baltimore, Maryland. After an extensive autopsy, it was found that Hae was strangled to her death.
This piece of evidence is very big against Adnan's case which could put Adnan at the risk of being guilty. There were many interviews saying that Adnan did ride with Hae in her car which could be accurate for Jay’s testimony leaving Adnan
“Serial” Podcast Hae Min Lee, murder at eighteen by strangulation was found dead February 9, 1999 in Leakin Park, Baltimore. Adnan Syed has been in prison for over fifteen years after being convicted of murdering his ex- girlfriend Hae. He has been sentenced for more than thirty years in prison. If most people got a call from the police that would stick out in their minds as a big deal. He also showed strange behavior towards Jay. If Adnan was truly innocent he would be extremely disturbed that Jay would accuse him of murdering his own ex-girlfriend. Adnan would have said that Jay was lying, but he never said that Jay was wrong about the
Relationships, lies, murder, conviction. These are all aspects that come into play when talking about the January 13th, 1999 murder of high school student Hae Min Lee. Adnan Syed, Hae’s 17-year-old ex-boyfriend was convicted of her murder in 2000. The problem with this is that the only evidence the state had to convict Adnan was the stories told by others, specifically someone named Jay who was with Adnan for some of the day Hae went missing and had possession of Adnan’s car and cell phone. He claims Adnan made him come pick him up after the murder was committed and assist him in burying Hae’s body.
The only other person who knew the truth was her boyfriend, 18-year-old, Johnny Rider. He knew because he was with Cassie when the pair allegedly murdered her grandparents together. Police reported Cassie and Rider brutally murdered the elderly couple, using butcher knives to slash their throats, while beating them with a baseball bat, hammer and a tire iron.
After he was found guilty, the man was murdered and it was thought that it was by Maya’s
