The Stamp Act(1763) was a law that required all colonial residents to pay a stamp tax on practically all printed paper. including documents, contracts, wills, pamphlets and even playing cards. Great britain made the tax in order to help get rid of the debt using the colonies The colonists reacted fairly quick, and insisted that it was a way that great britain is raising money on the colonies without going through colonial legislatures,which lead to The Declaratory Act. The Declaratory Act(1766) by the British Parliament that followed the abolish of the Stamp Act. It stated that the British Parliament’s taxing authority was the same in the colonies as in Great Britain. also the abolish of The Stamp Act was first major fight back in the face of great britain of colonial resistance. British leaders thought that the colonists would accept the indirect taxes such as import duties, but clearly the colonist did not take it well. the colonist thought that great britain is abusing there power. which lead to Boston massacre. Boston Massacre was a street fight that happened on March 5, 1770, between a patriot mob, throwing stones, and sticks, and a squad of British soldiers. Several colonists were killed. The riot began when about 50 colonist were attacked a British soldier. then a British officer, called in additional soldiers, and the extra soldiers were attacked, so the soldiers fired into the mob, killing 3 on the spot. Then The Tea Act Happen. The Tea Act (1773) Was the last in a series of unpopular policies and taxes imposed by Britain on the colonies. The Tea Act was when the british put tax on their tea and it was the only tea that was affordable so the colonist went on a boycott to the british tea. Which lead to The Boston Tea
