The Stamp Act(1763) was a law that required all colonial residents to pay a stamp tax on practically all printed paper. including documents, contracts, wills, pamphlets and even playing cards. British leaders thought that the colonists would accept the indirect taxes such as import duties, but clearly the colonist did not take it well. the colonist thought that great britain is abusing there power. which lead to Boston massacre. Boston Massacre was a street fight that happened on March 5, 1770, between a patriot mob, throwing stones, and sticks, and a squad of British soldiers. Several colonists were killed. The riot began when about 50 colonist were attacked a British soldier. then a British officer, called in additional soldiers, and the extra soldiers were attacked, so the soldiers fired into the mob, killing 3 on the spot. Boston Massacre Introduction Boston Massacre is the famous riot that took place between the British soldiers and American patriots. The trigger point was the levy of taxes on the Americans called patriots in literature with regard to this particular era. The killings were attempted by the British soldiers who were posted in the territory for making sure the implementation of the introduced taxes on general consumption goods like tea, wine, fruits, red and green glass, red and white lead, paste board, papers and painter’s colors. By taxing colonists for paper, Britain could regain the money they lost. The Stamp Act made colonists very mad. Paper was a common item, and the colonists did not want to have to constantly buy stamps. The colonists wanted freedom from the taxes and they did not like being controlled by Britain.
On March 5, 1770 the Boston Massacre took place. The Boston Massacre was about a group of British soldiers who killed a group of people during a riot. That is what got colonist to rise up and start an attack. Boston Massacre On March 5, 1770, the colonists had enough of the soldiers standing there with guns ready to shoot any colonist that ticked them off so they started to make fun of and mock the soldiers and in all the chaos a soldier was shoved and accidentally shot a colonist, so in fear of the moment another soldier shot more colonists, and the colonist used this as propaganda against the soldiers.
