Digital citizens have the responsibility to develop and constantly improve their technological knowledge. Learning technological knowledge by others must be encouraged. It is the electronic code of behaviour or procedures (Ribble, 2011). We are rapidly learning that our comments, posts, images and the videos we share have an impact on those around us. Due to this we need to apply an online set of rules that will guide us in our behaviour (IIE (PTY) Ltd, 2018).

It is the electronic responsibility for ethical or unethical acts (Ribble, 2011). As digital citizens there are laws for the way we behave and interact. There must not be theft, plagiarism and abuse of others. This digital era breaches intellectual information laws such as, copyright infringement and trademark abuse. 1: Books written by Minimalists This research process was effective in the way it provided me with reliable information, specifically through the way Becker (Simplify, 2010), exposes the seven main concepts that create a base line for the ideas of minimalism and Kondo (The life changing magic of tidying up, 2014) highlighting the importance of the decluttering method, ensuring that you can gain the most of out your experience. These sources were most important to my research as they were larger sources that helped validate key points made by smaller internet sources. The information provided by this research process was mostly reliable, as they are written by people currently living and following the Minimalist movement.
The Internet has provided a cover and mask for cyberbullies and members of society who would otherwise be too scared to speak their negative thoughts in real life. Journal 2 - Module 2: Technology Standards and Position Statements This week readings, I encounter new key words to define technology and I created a world cloud with these key words. Pondering about digital citizenship took me different dimensions of the technology. It make me consider that the digital media and/or technology becomes a culture. The laws in the real world apply online, an example if you damage somebody house or property in the real world you would get in trouble. This new group of consumers is increasing in number over the years as on-line shopping become a trend and manifestation of modern life style. Based from the Paynter & Lim (2001), E-commerce would provide consumers with benefits such as interactive communications, fast delivery, and more customization that would only be available for consumers through online shopping. Information literacy helps students recognize misleading, out-of-date, or false information. It also helps them sort through the data and interpret it intelligently. Libraries full of books are still available and a valuable resource for students, but information literacy includes the Internet and beyond. Teachers are involve into it, they act as channel of information.
The world we live in today is predominately changing with the advancement of digital communication in the daily aspects of our life. The rapid growth and evolution of digital communication, has resulted in it now becoming the backbone of the way we interact with other people. Beginning from simple 160-character SMS messages to text’s influence on the internet including Facebook, Twitter, Blogs and Instagram and then introduced on our mobile phones with BBM and whatsapp; digital communication has become a part of our spoken discourse. Digital communication in every aspect has impacted our lives as it helps jobs and businesses communicate a lot faster through e-mail, multimedia and texting.
