Wellesley Mission Statement Analysis
I knew I had to go to Wellesley when I first read the mission statement. My father placed it nonchalantly on the edge of my desk. It was fall, and because I believed I already knew where I wanted to attend college, I moved it aside. When I finally read the statement, I cried. Everything I talked about, all summer long, was contained between two brightly blue quotation marks: “To provide an excellent liberal arts education to women who will make a difference in the world.” I am passionate about history, fascinated by politics, and in love with people. I strongly believe that my happiness depends on further enlightenment and unmediated engagement in an active, vibrant and inspiring community, such as Wellesley’s. I hope to earn a law degree
