He was born in Tampico, Illinois. His nickname once he grew older was “The Great Communicator.” The Great Communicator died at the age of 93 from pneumonia. Ronald Reagan is a very admired person by many. He impacted the lives of Americans. Today his impacts live on. Ronald Reagan was born in a small apartment above a general store in Tampico, Illinois on February 6, 1911. His parents, Jack and Nelle Reagan were busy raising him and his older brother. That didn’t stop Reagan from growing up and doing what he wanted. He grew older and attended Eureka College in Eureka, Illinois. From there, Reagan’s early careers were acting. He was a sportscaster, and acted in film. He tried out for many of parts in the film business, but nobody seemed to want him. Reagan was sworn into office on January 20, 1981. While in office, Reagan did so many things to help America. The first things he did were increased troop levels, lowered supply of nuclear weapons in America and Europe, created nearly 16 million new jobs, and collapsed soviet empire. (“Top 10 Reagan Achievements”) By reaching all of those goals, he ended the cold war. This was a huge success for president Reagan. Reagan thought it was important for all different organizations to have fundings, so he made sure to supply them with the fundings. He increased the education budget by $6 billion, totaling it up to $35 billion for education. To get a handle on the War on Drugs he raised the funding by $1.25 billion in just 5 years. The fundings for the War on Drugs were then totalled up to $2.5 billion. The last major fundings he supplied, were to the International Space Station.
