Samuel is a very respected, honored, and patriotic man in US history. 1.LIFE GROWING UP Samuel Adams was born September 27, 1722 in Boston ,Massachusetts .He died October 2 ,1803 in Cambridge, MA. and Mary Adams. Samuel Adams Sr. was a deacon at the congregational church, and was known as a politician and business man to many. He created his own land bank, it was put their to give borrowers who mortgaged their property paper money to help pay off their debts. During this time the land bank currency was very promising to people. such as poor farmers. This allowed them to expand their purchasing and helped many merchants selling their goods to these farmers who were looking to purchase. Mary Adams, was a very religious and strict woman to raised in Massachusetts. She strongly preached the Puritan ways to Samuel like his father, who was a preacher. As Samuel was growing up his parents always wanted him to be a preacher of the church his father worked at, but that was not the way for young Samuel. He really believed in politics, which would soon become his role in life. Every step he took in life was in a political way. He was called “ the last of the Puritans”. Due to these rebellious actions the British created the coercive acts of 1774. This was use to punish American colonist and Boston for things such as riots and the Boston tea party to be specific. The coercive acts were also known as the “Intolerable acts”. After all this madness came the Declaration of Independence. Which freed all thirteen American colonies from the British government. What the thirteen formed the United States of America. Lots of very important people signed the declaration of independence such as John hancock[whom he met in sons of liberty], John adams[ samuels second cousin].and plenty of others. John Hancocks signature was an very important signature because he was the first president of the congress. Samuel Adams served as Massachusetts delegate to the Continental Congress until 1981. ACCOMPLISHMENTS There are many Major accomplishments for Samuel Adams. He was a very influential person. In the year 1765 him, and a couple of other people created the Sons of Liberty to fight against British taxation against the English colonies. He Played a Huge role in organizing the Boston Tea Party after he was denied by Governor Hutchinson whom was the governor of Massachusetts. Samuel Adams was also signee of the Declaration Of Independence in 1776 when all thirteen American colonies came together. John Hancock was born on January 23rd, 1737 , in Braintree of Massachusetts. He was an only child . When Hancock was just a young boy his parents pasted away , and had to move in with his wealthy uncle in Lexington. After, graduating from Harvard college in 1754, Hancock went to work for his uncle. Samuel Adams graduated from Harvard in 1743, even though he was a very educated young man he struggled getting a successful business started because he had problems with handling his finances, but most young people face the same struggles. With no where to turn he joined his family business, and began to produce malt for brewing beer. In his spare time Samuel became an active writer with the independent paper, he was writing articles on the politics that were in the public. Politics became one of his interests in while studying law in college. Samuel was critical of local leaders in his articles because of their alignment with the British.
“The Father of America,” one of Samuel Adams’ nicknames and even though he wasn't officially an American leader, he still got the name because he was the spokesperson for the rebellion. Samuel Adams was a very important figure in the American Revolution. Adams had large influence on the American Revolution including setting up the Boston Tea Party in 1773, being an organizer of the Sons of Liberty, and creating the Committees of Correspondence. John Hancock was president of the Second Continental Congress and first Governor of the commonwealth of Massachusetts born on January 12, 1737 in Braintree Massachusetts most commonly know for his large signature on the Declaration of Independence. He was an important figure during the American Revolution and was one of the richest men in the colonies. Hancock lived an interesting life and provided a significant impact to American history. He was the son of John Hancock and Mary Hawke.
In 1747 he officially began his political career by accepting a position as clerk for the Boston Market. He worked there for a good number of years. In 1748, both his parents passed away leaving him in charge of his family’s financial well-being (The Famous People). He struggled to keep the property from being seized and eventually spent all of the remainder of his parent’s fortune. This is another example of his poor financial expertise.

Even in his early years John was in a class of his own coming from a humble background to become a prominent lawyer while seeking his passion for education and justice. Later in life, John Adams went on to do even more incredible things as a vocal political figure which led him to become an incredibly successful and influential politician during the development of our country. Throughout his life he was incredibly passionate about his values and ideals that influenced our countries development.
The History of Abigail Smith Adams Abigail Smith Adams (1744-1818) was the wife of John Adams, the second president of the United States, and mother of John Quincy Adams, the sixth president of the United States. She was born about 30 years before the Revolutionary War and ran her entire household during the war with very little help. After the war, she went to Europe to be with John and later became very involved in politics when John became vice president and then president, by advising him. Abigail was born in Weymouth, Massachusetts, on November 22, 1744. “On her mother’s side she was descended from the Quincys, a family of great prestige in the colony; her father and other forebears were Congregational ministers, leaders in a society that held its clergy in high esteem” (Black).
When comparing Sam Adams, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and John Adams, we can see that there are some similarities and differences between the men. Perhaps the most notable relation this group has, is that they were all formal presidents and had some type of power or ownership. The qualities of all four men are often seen as opposed to each other. One similarity for example, with George Washington and Thomas Jefferson was that they were prosperous Virginian plantation owners and held slaves. Jefferson and Adams were both well educated people and knew about the law.
John Hancock is most famous for his very large, stylish signature on the Declaration of Independence. Many important documents came out of the Continental Congress during the American Revolution. As the president of the Continental Congress, John Hancock got to preside over many debates among delegates. John Hancock proved his drive and courage during the Revolutionary War. John Hancock was against the British and he was promoted to major general in the Massachusetts militia.
