Since 1095 students have been tortured with homework in american school systems. Homework is believed to be created by a school teacher in 1095 by a school teacher Roberto Nevillis. Everyone has faced the inevitable pressure of multiple homework assignments in multiple classes that are all do on the same day. Students are receiving too much homework and there needs to be a limit on how much homework a student can receive each week. Instead of giving generalized assignments to students with different needs, a system of specific assignments for students that have the same needs. That may take more work and resources, but if the parents were more involved with the education process, then they could help the teachers make sure they have the necessary information and tools to help each student to best they can. Another solution would be to cut the overall amount of homework is given to students. If a legal limit was placed on the amount of homework was given, it would reduce the amount of health risk in stressed students, and take a particularly large load off the shoulders of parents with multiple kids, and varying ages. A third a final solution would be to get rid of homework countrywide. Countless studies say that with all the homework that is being given, homework has become counter productive. Homework is a term used to describe assignments given to students by their teacher to be completed outside regular class period. Some people say that homework is necessary for student success, but it actually has no academic benefits and has negatively effects on children life; therefore, it must be abolished. In order to support my view, I did research on two articles “End Homework Now” (2001) by Etta Karlovac and John Buell and “Moving with the Brain in Mind” (2000) by Eric Jensen both articles display that the negative effects of homework outweigh its positive effects. Homework should be banned in the United States. Homework isn 't always bad. But one reason that it is bad is that there is a lot of stress that is brought on by homework. Also it takes away quality family and time to do things outside of school. Lastly it doesn’t allow children to play and develop.

Down with Homework I agree with Alfie Kohn, when he states the strain that enormous amount of homework causes. But I disagree with his opinion in completely eliminating homework. We cannot eliminate homework because that will destroy the bridge that keeps students connected to their books after they leave school. I do however agree with Kohn in the recent, increase in homework children are getting.
Kids should be considered next time a teacher hands out homework, what is it doing to these kids. Homework can take away from family time, and can stress the lives of youth. Does it really help? Sure homework CAN be a good learning tool, but also affects kids in a negative way. Kids should have little to no homework to reduce stress upon students in schools.
Why Students Shouldn’t Have Homework There are around 365 days in a year, and in a school year, there are around 180 days. From the beginning of the school year to the end, the most common thing that students least like, is homework. Coming home after a long day of school, then having responsibilities to do at home, not to mention some students have after school activities which take up around 2 hours if not more. Homework for students is a barrier that makes it difficult for them to have any kind of social life, or spend time with their family. There are many reasons why students shouldn’t have homework, during this essay people will learn why having homework isn’t helping the student, except making things more difficult for them.
Over recent years, the debate has gotten more attention as to whether students should have homework as homework has seemed to increase. Students having homework does not benefit them in their academic skills and should be abolished. In countries like Japan and Denmark, the students don’t have much homework, but exceed the United States on international tests. An average student would spend hours on schoolwork a day, which can be very stressful. A high school student will use half of their day around school relation.
