“The chief significance of Alpha Phi Alpha lies in its purpose to stimulate, develop, and cement an intelligent, trained leadership in the unending fight for freedom, equality, and fraternity. Our task is endless.” Jewel Henry Arthur Callis. Since its founding Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity has remained loyal to its ideal of providing advocacy for its community. Becoming an Alpha is a life time goal of mine. I would like to become an Alpha because of encounters with other Alpha men, the correlation of Alpha Phi Alpha’s Nationals Projects and My lifetime goals and its Fraternal Brotherhood. “Kids have a hole in their soul in the shape of their dad. And if a father is unwilling or unable to fill that hole, it can leave a wound that is not easily healed.” Roland Warren. At the young age of 10, I experienced this; becoming a fatherless child. Just 22 days before my 11th birthday my father was sentenced to 8 years in the Federal penitentiary. I become a “Fatherless” child. Entering middle school this was a tough adjustment. As I matriculated through middle school, I found myself suspended and trying to fill a hole in my soul to replace my father. My middle school days were something I am less than proud of. However, I think it was the perfect introduction for Alpha Phi Alpha. Throughout, high school I encountered several teachers that were apart of …show more content…
As the youngest of three, I have experience what it is like to have a strong sibling relationship. I did not understand the severity of the Brotherhood of Alpha Phi Alpha until going to a couple community events held in my city. Being around men that are so supportive and humble has been a rewarding experience. Not only has it been a rewarding experience it has giving me guidance on how to strengthen the relationship between my siblings and I. Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternal bond is the next step in life I would love to achieve and

But what they don’t know is the unforgettable lessons and benefits that it could teach you. Alpha Kappa Delta Phi sorority Inc. taught me so much about myself in all angles. The five pillars- sisterhood, scholarship, service, leadership and Asian Awareness- resonated within me, but it was the strong passion of all my sisters for each of these pillars that really drew me in. From the sorority, I’ve learned so much about networking, business and communication.
My increased desire to become an Alpha Man has been driven by my lifelong history and encounters with many of my past educators that are Alphas. I grew up in a typical underrepresented environment that had a big impact on my everyday life, from drugs, gangs, and a lack of ambition. Somehow that changed when I went to school, there where men in my schools that looked the same as the ones in my community, but the way they dressed and carried themselves was different. I later learned they were men of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.
“Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave, I am the dream and the hope of the slave. I rise, I rise, I rise.,” to become a Delta Woman. When asked to express why I should be awarded the honor & pleasure of being apart this great sorority; I must admit I was a bit overwhelmed but also very humbled. However, I am reminded of the great women Delta Sigma Theta has helped mold some of the most influential women in the world. I want to be apart of the most illustrious sorority organization.

At my high school, the Beta Club is the most elite, respected, and prestigious club. It is filled with the leaders, the doers, the hard-working, and the individuals who turn their dreams into reality. It is not for everyone, and in our ever-changing society, that is clear. Most people today do not like to rise up to the ever-growing challenge of leadership. It takes a certain kind of person to be a good leader, and the Beta Club has greatly helped me in doing so.

Why do I want to be a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority incorporated? Since I was a little girl I had grown up on the expectation that once I got to college I would pursue joining the organization Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority incorporated. Because this was instilled in me since I could really talk I never really question the idea. But once I got to college I began to truly question why I wanted to be a member.
Middle school is a very different time, a time to start discovering yourself. Many people figure out what makes them truly happy, or what they want to do with their life during this time. It’s also the road to high school, the last stop of your standard American education. As a middle school graduate, I’ve dealt with all the ups and downs, all the A+’s and the C-’s, all the old and new friends, and all the choosing of classes. Electives are the time to have something you enjoy in school, to pick what makes you happy, but also what will help you later.

Joining Alpha Sigma Tau has given me many strengths. My confidence was immediately boosted after my fear of not being good enough to join a sorority was conquered; this confidence boost soon flourished as I grew to know my new sisters. I have always struggled in making friends, and knowing that so many girls truly valued me as a person gave me the confidence that I had been lacking up until
From age 9-14, I spent most of my time with a babysitter. When I was old enough, I stayed home by myself. I grew lonely, and during those times was when I missed my biological parents. Though I love my dad with all my heart, we never established the bond that I had with my biological dad. My biological father, unfortunately, passed away May of this year.
National Honor Society is a great opportunity for everyone including myself. It has standards such as scholarship, leadership, character, and service. To maintain the standards I already have most of the standards I am a smart student with a 4.0 GPA, I have great leadership and character. The only thing missing is service. I do, do service but not as much.
Membership into Zeta Phi Beta will grant me additional opportunities to educate, love and provide guidance to others; as well as continue my growth in intellect, leadership abilities, confidence and maturity.
I am the oldest of three, and I want to be the person that everyone in my family can look up to as inspiration. Everyday I make an one and a half hour trip to Marist in order to become successful. Despite my challenges at school, I always reflect on my family back in Haiti, whom are not in the best condition. Furthermore, I learned to never
