Who is to blame for the tragic outcome of Romeo and Juliet? Have you ever asked yourself, who is the cause? Who’s fault is it, for all the blood that was shed? Who is liable for the dead that fell throughout William Shakespeare's famous play Romeo and Juliet? Who is to blame for these two star cross’d lovers death? Many times has this question been asked, but what is the answer? Through this play there are three turning points that made this play take a swivel for the worst. They could be well represented as strikes. Tybalt is the character most to blame for the tragic events in Romeo and Juliet because he caused the families to get their first strike, started the second fight, and by killing Mercutio made Romeo anger, so Romeo killed Tybalt therefore getting himself banned and causing the events that follow. Tybalt is the most to blame for the events that occur in Romeo and Juliet because he started the first fight, causing the two feuding families to get their first strike. In the first Act of the play two servants of each house start a ruckus. They start to fight when Benvolio of the Montague house comes and tries to put a stop to it. If Tybalt would have listened to Benvolio or just left him alone then the Prince wouldn’t have done what he did. The Prince came to them and told them that if they disturbed the streets again they would have to pay with it with their lives. If this whole event had not occurred then when Tybalt and Mercutio died the Prince might have not been forced to banish Romeo. The quote I used portrays just how blood hungry and savage Tybalt really is. All Tybalt is concerned with is killing some Montagues. He is against peace of any kind. This is the first strike that lead to the tragic end of Romeo and Juliet. By refusing to put down his weapon Tybalt caused the Prince to instil the punishment of death on any that disturb the streets
