Personal Essay I believe that I should be inducted into the National Junior Honor Society, because of the qualifications I have in character, attitude, education and service to Cliffside Park Middle School and our community. Being inducted into the National Junior Honor Society will help me grow as a person and will provide me with new challenges and skills. As a person who strives to achieve for the best, being a part of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) would clearly elevate my position beyond what I have achieved. The society consists of outstanding students who have the characteristics from the 5 everyday pillars of NJHS- scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship. It is not the average organization where anyone can join, but I believe that I, Dexin Kong, fit into these five categories from what I keep as morals and my actions throughout middle school. Scholarship is something that I hold in high regard- and with this, I like to think that all my hard work will pay off in the future to allow me to reach great achievements through high school, college, and a career.
It is also something can help me get into a good college. It is also a chance to earn scholarships. It helps add things to a resume as well that future schools and jobs look for, and I want to have any bonus that I can to help myself do well later in life. I believe that I have many things that I bring to the National Honor Society. One thing that y’all would be receiving, if you choose to accept me, is a strong servant leader.
To be in National Junior Honor Society you have to have good character, citizenship,service, and leadership. First, I have good character. I take criticism willingly, and I also welcome recommendations. Second, I demonstrate citizenship well. Civic involvement is very important, and I have high regard to freedom, justice, and respect for the American form of government.
National Honor Society is known for their members with great grades and outstanding character. I personally believe that I would fit into this club wonderfully. Finishing with a cumulative GPA of 3.6 and a 4.0 GPA last semester. With grades being the most important thing to me, I take them very seriously.
I believe I display all of the qualities mentioned in the four pillars of National Honor Society. I am a person of good character who displays the six pillars of character in everything I do. I provide leadership and service in many ways and value education as a lifelong learner. The first reason why I should be in National Junior Honor Society is because of my leadership skills. The first example of my leadership skills are applied to my youth group in the Cecilton Parish. I am the treasurer and help with the Ideas for fundraising. We, as a group held a spaghetti dinner for the church and I managed the money and the setting. Pursuing this further, I actively show leadership in school.
It is an honor to be nominated for the National Honor Society. The fact that I was nominated proves to me that all of my hard work and dedication has not been for nothing. The National Honor Society is known for recognizing students who strive to achieve their best not only in school but in themselves and the community. I believe that I’m one of those students. Based upon my last two year at Matawan Regional I now have a 3.9 GPA and am ranked in the top 20% of my graduating class.
I am extremely honored to be eligible for this opportunity to apply for the National Honor Society. Becoming a member of the National Honor Society has been a goal I set for myself since I was a student in middle school. I have been greatly looking forward to this moment for a very long time. Moreover, I have worked very hard throughout high school to better myself and those around me in the many ways mentioned above. It is an extraordinary honor to be considered as a candidate for the National Honor Society. Being considered means I have achieved my goal in demonstrating my determination- in school and outside of school- and my willingness to aid people in my community. Being a part of such a prestigious organization is an enormous responsibility to which I will fully devote my time. Ever since I was a freshman, my goal was to work diligently to be among the highest scholars and to be accepted into this scholarly “hall of fame”. National Junior Honor Society is the start of everything. This group helps set me up for my years to come. Being in the NJHS it helps me get into the one in high school, which looks really good one college applications. When I first hear about National Honor Society in the beginning of my middle school years I knew that it was something I not only wanted to be a part of but that I was meant to be a part of. Growing up much of my time was spent around adults causing me to mature quickly and realize things others my age did not. I have always been driven and independent and accept noting but the best from myself especially when it comes to academics. I maintained straight A's all throughout my education up until high school. Having a 6.4 GPA freshman year and a 6.1 GPA at the beginning of junior year as well as being number 141 of 713 in my class.
