Technicolor Process Number Three was developed in 1928. The major change to Technicolor Process Number 3 is that it no longer included the projection print that was made out of cement. Instead it used a print created by dye imbibition. It still used the red and green filters from the previous phases. Through this phase, Technicolor continue to grow their corporation. “As evidence of the increased color mindedness throughout the industry, Technicolor had the contracts for the ten months beginning March, 1929, covering the photography and delivering of prints of the equivalent of approximately seventeen feature length productions” (Fielding, 1983). Within the next year Technicolor doubled its contracts. Cameras were always operating day and night. Due to the limited amount of cameras available most …show more content…
Technicolor was also training large amounts of people to work in these plants and function equipment. They also created a team of Technicolor cameraman and color consultants to work directly within the film production process. In 1931, picture production dropped significantly. The film was graining and the production company needed to desperately introduce a new color or go out of business. Due to its continuous research, Technicolor was ready to release the next phases of Technicolor by 1932. In order to protect Technicolor and its brand, “the Company has patents on various phases of its process. It is the belief of the management that over-all company know-how is a far more important element than patent protection in maintaining Technicolor’s leadership in the field of coloured cinema photography” (Analysis of Technicolor Stock, p.382). The company worked to create a product that was quality worthy and meant the needs of its consumers. Through each process the technique continued to improve and Technicolor continued to grow its

When I was younger I always wondered why they started the film in black and white and then went to color, and through the use of Technicolor and three-strip negatives you see that it was a big thing for a movie to have color and took a lot of time and energy to create such a film. The Wizard of Oz, also known as “Production #1060,” called for lush Technicolor cinematography and costly special effects. Technicolor was a look that
Colorguard or winterguard is a sport of the arts that can be performed by all genders, and of all ages. It is a performance based activity that utilizes dance movements, hand-eye coordination, technique, and talent. Despite being ostracized sometimes by the ignorant people at school, colorguard has shaped me into a better person through keeping me active and in shape, giving me amazing best friends, and teaching me discipline. Color guard is a strenuous activity that involves a lot of cardio such as running and dancing with flags, sabres, and rifles. Because of colorguard, I was able to exercise to my full capacity even to the point of feeling like passing out.
Fox; A Silent Era Mogul The invention of cinema was an international contribution that took years of discoveries and inventions to develop. An accumulation of creativity, innovation and monetary desire started the film industry in the early 19th Century, and is what maintains it’s thriving success in the 21st. Different people have different goals. Everyone wants to achieve something, whether it’s becoming a surgeon or graduating high school. In the book Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer, for Chris McCandless it was out of the ordinary. McCandless wanted to go out into the wild alone with nothing besides a few general needs. Some of those needs consisted of a journal, a camera, a large bag of rice, a small cooking utensil, matches, a knife, and some fishing twine with a hook.
I related the song “Paint In Black” written and sung by The Rolling Stones to Tim O’Brien because Tim was part of the Vietnam war and after the war, he visioned many things black and the color black symbolizes death. Tim witnessed a lot of deaths including his friends during the war and those deaths haunted Tim. What keeps Tim’s friends alive is by telling people about his story of his experience in the war and about his friends. “I realize it is as Tim trying to save Timmy’s life with a story. ”(246) tells us that Tim found a way to keep his friends alive and to do that, he would tell stories about him and his friends and how they were together in the war.
The era I chose to create my music video in is 1900-1919: Leading up to WWI. If I were in this time period and would want to make a video that accompanied a song, I would harness the use of stop-motion video, since it was a relatively new invention. The artist would start and stop the camera, make a very small adjustment, and then start and stop the camera again. This, when played back, captured the object moving very subtly, making it look like it was moving on its own.
In “Between Shades of Gray” by Ruta Sepetys, the prisoners would have easier survived if they signed the NKVD papers. If they signed the papers they would have been able to send letters, they would’ve been treated better by the NKVD officers, and they would’ve never been held to a twenty-five year sentence hard work labor sentence. With these rights they would be stronger. They would be able to communicate with others and they would be able to trade to get what they needed. They would’ve been better off with signing.

A dye is a coloured substance that has an affinity, a bond with a physical surface, to the substrate to which it is being applied. Dyes are usually soluble in water. Dyes are used to change the perceived colour of an object. Dyes consist of 2 main parts: chromohore and auxochrome. Before 1856, all dyes were obtained from natural resources.
For many years, bleaching, coloring, and perms in hair have been in style and are also very common today. I have dyed and bleached my hair several times. I bleached it once, and a lot of my hair broke off from the sodium hypochlorite. I have colored my hair many times, but after each time, the softness of my hair gradually changed. When I bleached and colored my hair, the structure of my hair changed as well as the texture and length.
