Over many centuries, William Shakespeare created numerous plays and poems that are still well known to this day. His works are just as popular today as they were back in his time. Shakespeare’s adventurous and somewhat crazy life was just as intriguing as his work. William Shakespeare is said to be one of the most interesting men from his era. On April 23, 1564, in Stratford-upon-Avon, England, William Shakespeare was born. William’s father was John Shakespeare, an alderman, and his mother was Mary Arden, the daughter of a landowning farmer. It has been said, Anne was pregnant when they were married due to their first child, a daughter named Susanna, being born on May 26, 1583. A few years later, William and Anne had twins, Hamnet and Judith, on February 2, 1585. By the time Hamnet turned 11, he had passed away from unknown causes. The next seven years, after the twins were born, were said to be Shakespeare's “lost years”. There are no records of William between 1585 until at least the 1590’s other than in 1585 William left his family in Stratford. Some people came up with the theory that he was a school teacher and some said he may have worked as a horse attendant. It is still unknown to this day what happened to William Shakespeare during those years (biography.com). Sometime in the 1590’s, after William moved to London, he became a playwright, an actor and even a partial business partner in the company Lord Chamberlain's Men. Shakespeare's name first got out to the people when a man named Robert Greene wrote belittling things about him in an article. During this time William had written some of Henry VI and although what Greene wrote about William wasn’t positive, it’s pretty obvious the people still enjoyed his works even to this day

Shakespeare’s most famous fourteen comedies and twelve tragedies really outline the way modern literature is written and perceived. A lot of modern films and books are based around the same theme or plot that shakespeare introduced to theatre almost 400 years ago. Shakespeare's play The Comedy of Errors is a masterpiece due to its entertaining comedic characters throughout and the confusing, hilarious plot.
