Franklin was born January 25, 1706 in Boston, Massachusetts. Benjamin Franklin is well known for his part in the Declaration of independence and the U.S. Constitution. 3)When was the document written/created? The document was written in 1776. The same year that Franklin signed the Declaration of Independence. In 1776 the thirteen colonies became the United States of America. 4)Where was the document written/created? Does this influence your interpretation? The opening of the entire document is addressed to his son William Franklin, yet the audience shifts to no one in particular. The addressing doesn’t change my interpretation of the document. 7)What questions does the document raise? What don’t we know about this document (and where might we find those answers)? We don’t know the what the entire document is saying we only know part, but with a visit to the library we will be able to read the entire document and understand fully the purpose of the autobiography.
