The Case Of: JonBenet Ramsey. CBS. N.p., 18 Sept. 2016. Web. CBS aired a special “who killed JonBenet Ramsey” Who is JonBenet Ramsey? Jonbenet Ramsey was a six year old beauty pageant icon who was unexpectedly kidnapped and then found murdered in the basement of her own residence. Her mother Patsy made the 911 call to the police. During the call, she screams “Help me, Jesus” not once but twice. Which seems incredibly suspicious while she is screaming there a two other voices in the background. After further investigation during the phone call, it was her husband John and their son Burke in the background. The investigators claimed that the child they heard in the background Burke asked “What did you find?” Nothing about this 911 called seemed …show more content…
First, the parents seemed to be unrealistically disfigured. They get a random ransom note the same day they find their daughter's dead body in the basement? Nothing about these family’s reaction add up. But, the worst one was her brother Burke’s reaction during an interview when he was nine. He did not seem to be grieving over his sister's death. Which once again seems to be funny ; a little kid not feeling heart broken that he just lost his sister abnormal? Children cry when their fish dies, and Burke has a lack of grief during an interview. Burke’s rebuttal was the following; "I guess this is the combination of sitting in there with this weird guy that I'd never talked to before asking personal questions," Burke Ramsey said. "It's a combination of that and at some point, you just have to move on from the past. Because of the way Burke expressed himself, many people started to believe that he might have killed his sister or his parents tried to cover it up. They did not want to explain to the police that their daughter was killed by their son because of jealousy. At the same time there are many assumptions of who killed her and what …show more content…
CBS had created a documentary about the JonBenet Ramsey case twenty years later. Throughout the article, there are many accusations of family members in the house on who could have killed JonBenet. The list went from the mother, father, and her own brother. The whole family seemed to have strange reactions to the death of a close family member which made them suspects in the murder. Even to this day, we still do not have a guilty suspect, but if the public had to point its finger at someone, it would most likely be the brother Burke Ramsey. Willis, Charlotte, and Vanessa Brown. "'I Kinda Always Thought It Was a Paedophile Who Saw Her in One of the Pageants and Snuck In'." NewsComAu. N.p., 21 Sept. 2016. Web. 09 Mar. 2017. This article is based off the thoughts and opinion of the investigators. In the CBS program, the investigators revealed their theories. All fingers point to Burke. They said that they think Burke unintentionally killed JonBenet. It also describes Burke’s interview with Dr. Phil, in which Burke enlightens Dr. Phil with whom he thinks the killer is. No one knows for sure who actually did it, but what is agreeable is that something has always been off with Burke Ramsey. This article gives a great overview of important parts in the Dr. Phil
The investigation continued as a police investigation until the District Attorney’s office was asked to take over the investigation on March 12, 1998 (Denver Post, 1999). The net development, of note, in the case occurred on June 24, 1998, when the Ramseys return to Colorado to be interrogated by the District Attorney’s investigators (Denver Post, 1999). It was at this time that Burke Ramsey, JonBenet’s 11 year old brother is questioned for the first time, even though he was in the house on the night the murder took place. On September 16, 1998, the assembled grand jury begins their investigation into the case, and tis investigation lasted for more than a year, and ultimately, no indictments were issued, and no responsible parties were ever identified (Denver Post,
She was a child beauty queen who won a lot of pageants. Patsy and John were probably focusing more of their attention on her, and Burke was jealous. Not only that, but he was living in JonBenet’s shadow, which probably did not help the situation. Burke was very reserved and was into computer technology as Judith Phillips mentions in The Case of: JonBenet Ramsey; if he was a reserved child then that means he might not have had the best social skills and maybe he was being bullied at school. All of this could have been building up, and one night just snapped.
In 2016 Burke went on Dr.Phil and explained that the reason for his silence was that he wanted a somewhat normal childhood and not to spend his life flooded by cameras and accusations. Burke and JonBenet were very close and got along very well. Burke has his own theory of what happened to his little sister and why she was murdered: Burke believes that JonBenet was killed by a phedophile who was in the auidence of one of her pageants. This theory is backed by the fact that there was DNA from an unidentified male was found at the crime scene and all over JonBenet's clothes and
Burke states "For the last 20 years, I wanted to grow up like a normal kid, which does not include going in front of TV cameras.” I, myself find it ironic that Burke was never publicly interviewed until he was grown and officially ruled out as a potential suspect. I believe it is clear that JonBenet’s older brother was an aspect of his sisters' murder or at least knew exactly what happened the night of the murder. However, his parents tried to protect him as a young child by not allowing their son to be interviewed in the event that he would slip up and say something that could put the whole family under investigation. The article and interview used pathos by appealing to the viewer's emotions as Burke Ramsey was explaining and revisiting the thoughts of his sister's death.
The note was written by someone who claimed to have kidnapped their daughter. Since it was the day after Christmas, Bolder Police Force was understaffed. The mistakes that these police officers made is the main reason why JonBenet’s murder is unsolved. Law enforcement and friends drifted in and out of the home all day. John Ramsey says Linda Arndt, one of the main detectives, told him to search the home from top to bottom to see if there was anything suspicious.
John Ramsey found JonBenet Ramsey’s body in the basement, picked her up, then carried her up to the living room where he placed her on the floor. Several evidentiary issues can be easily noted with this situation. The
Who Killed JonBenet? I believe the murder was committed by a fatal blow to the head. I think it was a fatal blow and she was strangled. I also believe that it was an accident by Burke Ramsey, I believe he got angry and hit JonBenet over the head with a flashlight. They examined the body and a piece of skull was missing from the top of her head, and a flashlight fit exactly in that space.
With new technology now, the 911 call recoding was enhanced to try to hear voices that were faintly heard at the end portion of the call, where Patsy thought she hung up the phone, but didn’t. Jim Clemente and Laura Richards visit an enhancement facility, to finally clarify what was said during that time. After enhancement, “we’re not speaking to you,” was heard by a man’s voice, that sounded eerily like John Ramsey using the type of voice that usually would be used in talking to a child. “What did you do? Help me Jesus,” was then heard after by a female voice that could only be Patsy, and finally a smaller voice said, “What DID you find?”
Unfortunately for the investigation, much of the evidence found was contaminated, especially when John took the tape off JonBenét’s mouth and brought her up the stairs (JonBenét Ramsey). Based on this evidence, I believe that Patsy and John both had something to do with the murder of JonBenét. The fact that the items used to physically hurt JonBenét were from Patsy, and John knew exactly where to look first, cannot be a
The autopsy revealed JonBenét was strangled with a “garrote made from a tweed cord” (####). Also, JonBenét had a fractured skull which the Medical Examiner believed a broken paintbrush handle was the item that caused the injury. The garrote was tied in a manner where the person who did so had an advanced knowledge of knots. The Medical Examiner did believe there was a possibility JonBenét was sexually assaulted; however, no evidence of rape was found. Before JonBenét death she had eaten a pineapple.
I think that the dad did it. My first reason for thinking that the dad killed jonbenet is because he ruin physical evidence on her body by rapping her in a blanket. Rolling stone magazine said ” Though he'd been told to
JonBenet Ramsey who was a young loving beauty queen of Colorado, who’s live was taken way too early. JonBenet was murdered in her home in Boulder Colorado on December 26, 1996 at the age of six. After completing my research, I was able to make a prediction of who I believed murdered the incent child, and it did not take much research to see the mistakes made by the Boulder Police Department. The Boulder Police Department made numerous mistakes in the JonBenet Ramsey case.
At this point police believed that it was written by a woman due to the “nurturing language”. Another thing that the investigators found was an open window in the basement showing that the person who took Jonbenet had climbed through. In the original crime scene photos there was an undisturbed cob web on the bottom left corner of the window, and because the window was so small, anyone who tried to climb in and out of the window would have completely destroyed it. This evidence
As presented by the evidence above there is no doubt in mind that John Ramsey was the perpetrator in the death of JonBenet, his daughter and that Patsy Ramsey, his wife, helped him and together they covered up the crime. Due to the lack of
Earlier that morning patsy had found a ransom note on the stairs. Which had police thinking there was an intruder who killed Jon. They also found a broken window that was halfway open and a briefcase which was going to be used to carry Jon's body. Recently A&E did a documentary on the case of Jon Ramsey where some experts got together to solve the case. They
