Comparing King University, Oklahoma City University And Mckendree University

Choosing a college is a tough and life changing decision for a student. For the first time in their life they will be on their own. That’s part of why choosing a college is such a difficult and perplexing decision. As a student wanting to further my education and athletic career I have chosen three schools that would provide me as a student and athlete with what I need and want from a college. My schools of choice are King University, Oklahoma City University, and McKendree University. I am looking for a college with an admirable reputation, within my wanted mile zone from home, has a strong and well built women’s wrestling program, an excellent athletic training program and undergraduate programs that relate to my field of interest, and finally …show more content…

In addition to this standard, As a student whom will be attending college soon I am looking for private colleges that are well known and recognized for being very well respected institutions that are well ranked by magazines and have a been honored for their excellence. My top schools are all private and christian schools that have been awarded at least one type of academic excellence award or has been ranked by one or more magazines. For example, King has the reputation of a great and very well known and recognized school, it has been named Best Regional University in the South for nearly 30 consecutive years. King University has also been recognized by the Brookings Institution, which in 2016 ranked the University third in Tennessee for preparing students for high-paying careers (King about page). In addition to these honors king has been honored for the past 26 consecutive years, by the U.S. News & World Report that consistently ranked King University as one of the best colleges in the nation also as the "Best Value" in regional liberal arts colleges in the South (King reputation page). King has also been included in America's Best Christian College and The Student Guide to America's 100 Best College Buys as well as also recently been included in Princeton’s Review as "Best in the Southeast" college for the past 12 years (King reputation page). My second choice Oklahoma City University has the reputation of being a great urban private school which has been listed in the top tier of the regional, master's-level university category by U.S. News and World Report, Oklahoma City University is also listed in Forbes' "Best Christian Colleges" & "100 Best College Buys."(OKC homepage). Finally my third choice, McKendree has been known for being a great college and has been listed
