Based on the research I have conducted, JonBenet Ramsey may have died as the result of an accident. The staging of the kidnapping and murder were over the top in a very theatrical way. The ransom note was two and a half pages long, written on a notepad with a felt tip marker, both found within the residence (Ross, 2013). The handwritten note would have taken an extraordinary period of time to write, an intruder just having committed a murder would not have taken the time nor the risk to dwell within the residence risking being discovered for that amount of time. A handwriting examination displayed similarities in the ransom letter penmanship and Patsy Ramsey’s penmanship. The letter did not have any fingerprints on it, although we know that …show more content…
Additionally, the same fibers were found tied into the knots of the garrote. Patsy Ramsey was wearing the same clothing on December 26, 1998, as she did the day before implying that she may not have gone to bed the night before. The pineapple found in JonBenet Ramsey’s stomach indicates that she had eaten pineapple just prior to her death. Patsy and John Ramsey were adamant that she had not eaten pineapple, consequently, both Patsy Ramsey and Burke Ramsey’s fingerprints were found on the bowl of pineapple on the dining room table. This establishes a discrepancy in the timeline leading up the discovery of JonBenet Ramsey’s …show more content…
In an effort to protect Burke Ramsey after Patsy and John Ramsey saw that JonBenet Ramsey had succumbed to the injury they fashioned an elaborate plan to cover up her death. The way JonBenet Ramsey was placed within the wine cellar, draped with her blanket, indicated an intimate relationship with the person(s) that placed her there. The elaborate handwritten letter detailing the exact amount of a recent bonus that John Ramsey had received as ransom when he was known to be valued at much more. The letter stated it was from a foreign faction that did not like the American government explaining that their actions were not personal (Ross, 2013). Additionally, the ransom demand would have reasonably been substantially higher if it was, in fact, a terrorist type organization. Burke Ramsey was too young to be held accountable for his actions, consequently, Patsy and John Ramsey could have been held accountable had the investigation been conducted appropriately, gathering all the evidence available, as well as separately interviewing each member of the
Some think the family wrote the note since it seemed to have been rewritten several times, but the intruder was most likely trying to write the best paper without giving any hints to as who it might be. The note gave them the option to have their child returned as said by CNN Library,“JonBenét's mother, Patsy, says she found a ransom note demanding $118,000 for JonBenét's return,” ("JonBenet Ramsey"). The note had a time on it, the family couldn't call the police, but had to wait for a phone call. The majority think that since they never got a call, the family must have done it, but instead, it could have been the killers focusing on the escape. Hive provides us with key information about the note, “The ransom note warned the couple not to contact the police but to await a phone call between 8 and 10 that morning,” ("JONBENET RAMSEY").
While searching the house, Ramsey and White went into the basement, and after looking around, John Ramsey opened the door to, what was later identified as the wine cellar, and turned on the light. At that time John Ramsey found the body of JonBenet on the floor. Instead of calling out to the police, who were in the house, John Ramsey removed the white blanket, which had been covering the body, and carried JonBenet’s body up to the living room and placed her on the floor (Saferstein, 2011). This action alone, contaminated the crime scene, and may have possibly damaged or caused valuable evidence to be lost. When the body of JonBenet was found, her mouth and neck were bound with duct tape, and she had been strangled with a garrote (Denver Post, 1999).
Some may find this piece of evidence not important, but the night of her death Jonbenet did wet the bed; Patsy HATED that Jonbenet was wetting her bed. That night she could’ve got so mad at her and accidentally did the deed. The ransom note was analyzed and Patsy’s writing was said to be a possible match to the note, but it was inconclusive. Patsy also found the note, which was placed on the back of the stairs (the part you see while walking up). This is odd because she claims to have found it while walking down the stairs and it would essentially be impossible for her to see the pages.
For example, they found cut up pineapples with Burke's fingerprints on it. On the autopsy performed on JonBenet, it showed that she has previously eaten pineapples before the time of her death. Burke, JonBenet's brother, claims he never even came near pineapple. Another piece of evidence that was found was blood on JonBenet's underwear. A DNA sample of the blood was extracted and tested.
JonBenét Ramsey was a six year old girl from Boulder, Colorado. She lived in her home with her mother Patsy, father John, and brother Burke. JonBenét was known for her beautiful smile and success in beauty pageants, after following in her mother's footsteps in pageantry. This little girl’s sparkly, fun life took a turn on December 26th, 1996 when she was murdered in her home. Patsy Ramsey awoke around 5:30 am to begin her morning with coffee.
Not only did the police officers fail to secure the scene, the Ramsey’s invited two family friends to the house before they got there so the crime scene was contaminated. The police asked John to help them search the house top to bottom but again he oddly started in the basement. Normally this wouldn’t be taken as odd but when they went downstairs they found the body of JonBenet wrapped in a blanket. The officer with John said it was like he walked straight to the body. Also after being asked by boulder police to stay in the line of sight John was M.I.A for at least an hour and a
In Jonbenét Ramsey’s autopsy, in the digestive tract, were small increments of pineapple. Jonbenét may have taken a piece of pineapple using her hands, causing Burke to release all of his anger. Burke, in an uncontrollable rage, would strike Jonbenét Ramsey in the head with the flashlight in the kitchen. With all of this evidence point to Burke Ramsey as the murderer, there is a shunned theory that an outsider infiltrated the Ramsey household and killed Jonbenét
Since the pineapple was undigested, authorities believed that she was fed pineapple by her supposed killer before she was murdered. When the police were investigating the house, a bowl of pineapple and milk was sitting on the Ramsey’s kitchen counter along with a glass of iced tea with the tea bag still in the cup. When tested for fingerprints, JonBenet’s fingerprints were not found, however Burke Ramsey’s fingerprints were found on the glass. Patsy Ramsey’s fingerprints were found on the bowl of pineapple. Suspicion was raised when Patsy Ramsey denied ever getting either of her children a bowl of pineapple.
One day she was a beauty pageant star, next day dead piece of meat lying in her basement. JonBenet’s story is as interesting mystery that needs to be solved. Although, there are many theories about JonBenet, but scientific facts show that her father did the murder! On December 26,1996, in Boulder, Colorado, JonBenet Ramsey was murdered in her own home.
The planning of the murder was to kill her and make it look like a person from the outside killed her. When she was killed the next morning her mother Patsy Ramsey called her friends to come into the murder scene. When they came into the house they brought in footprints and a lot of fingerprints. Then the detectives could not find a whole lot of finger prints from the suspect. The father John Benet brought the body up to the living room then moved her again to the
One of very first mistakes the Department made was that they did not search the house very thoroughly, nor did put the house on secure the home and the evidence within the home after the first arrived on the sense. The Police department should have made sure that nobody enter the home, nor left the Ramsey home, before they had the opportunity to search it, and question everyone in the home at the time of the event. With no doubt if the police would have searched the house when they first arrived on the sense, they would have found JonBenet in the cellar of the basement in the Ramsey home wrapped in a blanket. Allowing John Ramsey and a close friend to search the house for missing house hold items, and that allowed him to find his deceased daughter. The Bounder Police Department also allowed family and friends to enter the home,
On December 26th, 1996, in Boulder County, Colorado, JonBenet Ramsey, age 6, was reported missing by her mother, Patsy Ramsey, at 5:52 AM. Patsy said that she found a ransom note and her daughter, JonBenet, was not in her bed. Police arrived at the crime scene at 6:10 AM. By the time they came the Ramseys already had friends and family cleaning their home. This may have been an attempt to comfort the family, but detectives say it could be why this case remains unsolved.
Some of their allegations were; that the ransom note was long and very specific. The paper that it was written on belonged to the Ramseys and their were also fibers found on the duct tape that was binding JonBenét. These same fibers were also found on Patsy’s clothes. After the District Attorney decided not to file charges, The Ramseys moved back to Atlanta. They later published a book called The Death of Innocence in 2001 to alter the views of the media who they felt had ruined their
On the kitchen table, there was a bowl of pineapple and milk with Burke’s fingerprints on it. There was always a cup of tea with Patsy’s DNA on it. These items were left from the night before the
The body of innocent six-year-old child JonBenet Ramsey was the primary evidence of her murder. Due to the Ramseys reporting JonBenet missing and police being aware that most reported missing children are located in or around their homes, they were instructed to search their own home. The Ramseys discovered a point of entry in their basement, where they found broken glass and forced entry. Patsy Ramsey, the mother, discovers a lengthy ransom letter demanding money for the return of JonBenet. Additionally, it is discovered later that the ransom letter is written inside the home.
