Based on the research I have conducted, JonBenet Ramsey may have died as the result of an accident. The staging of the kidnapping and murder were over the top in a very theatrical way. The ransom note was two and a half pages long, written on a notepad with a felt tip marker, both found within the residence (Ross, 2013). The handwritten note would have taken an extraordinary period of time to write, an intruder just having committed a murder would not have taken the time nor the risk to dwell within the residence risking being discovered for that amount of time. Patsy Ramsey was wearing the same clothing on December 26, 1998, as she did the day before implying that she may not have gone to bed the night before. The pineapple found in JonBenet Ramsey’s stomach indicates that she had eaten pineapple just prior to her death. Patsy and John Ramsey were adamant that she had not eaten pineapple, consequently, both Patsy Ramsey and Burke Ramsey’s fingerprints were found on the bowl of pineapple on the dining room table. In an effort to protect Burke Ramsey after Patsy and John Ramsey saw that JonBenet Ramsey had succumbed to the injury they fashioned an elaborate plan to cover up her death. The way JonBenet Ramsey was placed within the wine cellar, draped with her blanket, indicated an intimate relationship with the person(s) that placed her there. The elaborate handwritten letter detailing the exact amount of a recent bonus that John Ramsey had received as ransom when he was known to be valued at much more. The letter stated it was from a foreign faction that did not like the American government explaining that their actions were not personal (Ross, 2013). Additionally, the ransom demand would have reasonably been substantially higher if it was, in fact, a terrorist type organization.
