My verdict for Adnan’s Syed on the act on to see if he can testify about to see if he is innocent and I'll tell you why. My first piece of evidence is that Adnan did have an, ex-girlfriend but things got worse. When time goes on Adnan was charged with a human killing towards his high school ex-girlfriend and got sentenced to 17 years in an institution and this is why. Adnan strangled his ex-girlfriend to death because he was not showing joy in Hae Min Lee because she was was getting a new boyfriend. The detectives needed to find the murderer who killed Hae Min Lee, and if the investigators need strong informal evidence, then the investigators can put charges on Adnan. Through the investigation where the detectives have been investigating this case …show more content…
They also went to go to track practice that late afternoon. The two days from Thursday to Friday because apparently, the school was unopened from the unsuspected weather and while saying, no one really saw or seen Hae Min Lee anywhere. Adnan couldn’t be able to provide an alibi to give Adnan some assistance in court. The cell phone evidence, which did have the saying “Adnan killing Lee in a Best Buy parking lot just around 2:36 pm” which is when Wilds testified that Adnan did “called him to be picked up”. Then the state has to figure out that Syed did attempt, once again, to prove that Adnan killed Lee around 2:30 2:35 on January 13, 1999. Once again, there was no physical evidence linking Adnan to Lee's death, and there are no witnesses who have seen them together around the time of Lee's death or the time of the murder. They got the prosecution when the murder took place. Adnan has been waiting for 17 years to finally get back into the court to prove that he was innocent and “did not strangle Hae Min Lee”. Which is the same thing from him
Even with Jay’s testimony, I don't believe that Adnan Syed should have been convicted of murder on such little evidence. The state’s motive for Adnan is based on Muslim stereotypes and no real evidence. They say that when Hae broke up with Adnan she besmirched his honor, forcing him to have to kill her to regain it. Adnan has shown many times that he doesn’t follow strict Muslim rules by dating multiple girls, partying, and even smoking marijuana.
Jay Wilds was the state’s main, and only, witness. He says that Adnan killed Hae and then he called Jay from a phone booth outside of a Best Buy to show him the body and to ask him what to do. Afterwards, they both drive around a bit, get high, drive some more, bury Hae together, and then drive back home. There is even cellphone evidence to support Jay’s story. This all seems bad for Adnan until you look deeper into Jay’s story.
Adnan was convicted and is now in prison to this day. But Adnan did not have a fair trial. There are too many details that aren’t filled in Jay’s story, as well as, Jay shouldn’t have been considered a reliable witness in the first
When Adnan was in Hae'a car, he found a priority chance to strangle Hae, and then he called jay drive to school picking up him and buried Hae's body. After that, they went to Cathy's home. In Adnan's testimony, he stated that he did not stay with jay at that time because he was going to buy a birth day gift to jay's girl-friend, Sephanie. The star witness, Jay proofed that Adnan showed Hae's body to him and they buried the body. The opposing view of Adnan was murder said that Jay's testimony had changed several times, his story was incredible.
Therefore, Adnan is innocent because he is an amiable person and doesn't have time to kill somebody due to participating in various school
With so many different stories and countless pieces to the puzzle, it’s hard to find the truth beneath it all. As we listened to the case of Adnan Syed unfold, through the podcast Serial, by Sarah Koenig, we see just how hard it is to find the truth with so many changing stories and endless lies. Adnan Syed was convicted, and sentenced to life in prison, for the murder of Hae Min Lee. Adnan was Hae’s ex-boyfriend and they both attended Woodlawn High School in Baltimore, Maryland.
Sarah states, “ If I’m Adnan and I need to be seen for track, I’m freaking out right now, that I need to get back for track to have an alibi.” “But, it is possible. Or at least not impossible, which was what Adnan was saying in that first letter.” These quotes explain Adnan is innocent because if he had killed Hae before Jay said they went to the park to smoke weed, why would Adnan want to go far from school if he knew he had a track practice to go to? The route Jay was explaining could have been possible, but everything had to have been the right time and right movements to prove it.
Could it have pushed him over the edge but no one knew? These questions circle through my head when I think about how Hae was killed knowing Adnan knew how to strangle someone. Here is a friend, Aisha, she states, “Classmate and best friend of Hae. Remembers Adnan being possessive with Hae (People Map). ”
Mikaela Callahan Senior Nonfiction English Murderer of Hae Min Lee Persuasive Essay The Murder of Hae Min Lee Adnan Syed has been a prisoner since his senior year of high school, whose destiny is to die in his jail cell someday and never come back to the world. At least, that's what his indictment is. Syed was arrested for the murder of Hae Min Lee, an ex-girlfriend of his, despite there being an overwhelming lack of evidence and support for his accusation. The only real case the accuser had was the witness statement given by Jay Wilds, and cell phone tower pings that synced up with it. But this case was disgustingly mismanaged and poorly carried out.
Carson Butler Dayhoff English 3 2-7-17 Serial Paper As indicated by reports and measurements from the National Youth Violence Prevention Resource Center, around one in nine homicides were conferred by a young less than 18 years old in 1999; Hae Min Lee was one of the incalculable casualties of this kind of murder on January 13, 1999. Adnan Syed was indicted this murder by the condition of Maryland in February of 2000. The principle onlooker in his trial was Jay, who the state bases their case off of in light of his credible narrating including the murder.
According to an article in Rolling Stone magazine, Syed’s guilt is clear due to incriminating evidence. Cell phone records indicate that on the night January 13, 1999, he was in the area where Lee’s body was located (McDonnell-Parry). Additionally, Jay Wilds, a primary witness and friend at the time, testified that on the day of Lee’s disappearance Adnan Syed was angry about his ex-girlfriend having started a new relationship with someone else and that he wanted to kill her (McDonnell-Parry). This reaction to her moving on further incriminated him because it gave him a motive to kill her (McDonnell-Parry). Through this evidence, the prosecuting attorneys presented a convincing argument against Adnan
However, I’m going to reaffirm that the defendant Mr. Syed had still killed Ms.Lee on the afternoon of Jan.
This was quite the battle for Adnan Syed, a young oriental male who was accused of murdering his long-time girlfriend in January of 1999. Hae-Min Lee, Adnan’s girlfriend, went missing in January and her body was found buried in a local park 3 weeks later. Adnan Syed is innocent of killing Hae-Min Lee because of three reasons: Cristina Gutierrez, Adnan’s lawyer, failed to put him in a position to win the trial, Jay is not an effective witness, and the window of time does not match up. Adnan is not at fault
She got a new boyfriend?’ And he didn’t know how to deal with that”(Cooper 19). How this disproves the original claim of Adnan being innocent is because this Jay talking about what would have been Adnan’s motive of the murder of Hae Min Lee. Which is reliable because he has never gone through something rough like the break up like Jay said but with him dealing with this and Hae getting a new boyfriend this definitely would have put him over and killed Hae. For the second quote this is from the serial podcast itself.
This proves that Adnan was the one who killed her. Jay and Adnan both committed a serious crime. Adnan killed Hae with the help from
