During the nineteenth century, there was a major rise in industrialization. The united states was becoming a more industrialized country with many new technology. As the country became more industrialized, there were more employment opportunities for people in the united states. For example, in the textbook it says, “From 1880 to 1920, the number of industrial workers in the nation quadrupled from 2.5 million to over 10 million, while over the same period urban populations doubled, to reach one-half of the country’s total population(511). This shows that the employment rates have rose do to the industrialization growing. There were many new inventions that were created the made life for the people easier. For example, People had to work long hours during not that good condition. There was also a low wages. Like for the long hours that people worked, they werent getting paid enough for what they deserved. People would protest about the working conditions knowig that there owners were really wealthy but not paying them enough. Also women would work at factories too and there kids were at home while they were working for hours. Also during this time there was child labor. Some children were working at dangerous places in the factories. Another would be that the smoke that got out of the factories caused bad pollution to be released out in the air that people breathe in. Those were some changes that occurred during the nineteenth century. The nineteenth century did change the country a lot. But some those changes impacted the society in a good and bad way.
