The purpose of this experiment was to observe and thoroughly analyze how different substances of dissimilar intermolecular forces acted in different scenarios of evaporation, evaporative cooling, and boiling. In the lab, the three substances tested and compared were Acetone, Acetic Acid, and Propanol. Firstly, intermolecular forces and strengths of different chemical substances could be identified using valence shell electron pair repulsion shapes and prior knowledge of various kinds of intermolecular forces: London Dispersion, Dipole-Dipole, and Hydrogen bonding. When each drop of chemical was carefully squeezed onto the surface of the lab table, the time of evaporation was timed carefully, capturing the exact times each of the substances completely finished evaporation. As a result of this, Acetone evaporated instantly, within just less than a minute, 57 seconds. Propanol and Acetic Acid followed a while afterward, with Propanol evaporating in 8 minutes and 40 seconds and Acetic Acid in 30 minutes and 43 seconds. The distinct and differing times of evaporation of all three chemicals represented the differences in the intermolecular forces that each of the chemicals possesses within their molecules and how they cause each substance to behave when left out to evaporate. Weaker intermolecular forces do not take long to fully evaporate because of the lack of energy required to weaken their bonds, hence Acetone takes less time to evaporate compared to Propanol and Acetic

Biochemical tests were used to help identify the unknown bacteria. The Citrate test, Urease test, Triple Sugar Iron Agar test, Voges-Proskauer test, and Methyl Red test were the biochemical tests used in this experiment.
Group 1: All the elements that were tested from group 1 had a pH level of 12. This meant that all the tested elements produce an alkaline solution. Group one elements readily lose their valence electron as they wish to form a full valence shell this gives them all a low electron affinity. The group one elements have different electronegativity going down the group. Electronegativity of the elements decreases with the increasing the atomic radii.
ST Report In the experiment, the problem was the contaminants that were affecting the quality of the water samples. To fix this issue, three scientists had to determine the contaminants that were present in the samples. One sample was from the school sink and the second sample was from an unknown source. The scientists conducted many tests to figure out what pollutants were present in the water.

The first test that gave us an indication that catharant hus ovalis (species Z), is most closely related to Catharanthus roseus (Rosy periwinkle) is test 5 (Test for enzyme M). We found that both species Z and rosy periwinkle have enzyme m present which suggests that share similar enzymes, which helps prove that species Z can produce the same alkaloids. Enzymes are used to increase reaction and help with digestion/ synthesis. Enzyme m, which is present in periwinkle, is used to synthesize the alkaloids of interest. We tested the 3 other species to see if this enzyme was present to help bring us to our conclusion of which is most similar to rosy periwinkle.
Observations of the rock in hand sample have a slight variation to those seen in thin section. In hand sample five main minerals were visible with trace amounts of a sixth seen in very small amounts. Mineralogy in hand sample is k-feldspar, plagioclase, quartz, biotite, magnetite, with trace amounts of hornblende.
