November 10, 1775 was the birthdate of the United States Marine Corps and throughout the years they continue to be a part of the American Armed Forces continuing its legacy of winning Americas battles and wars. This is in part due to the Marine Corps having fought in earlier battles and wars such as the Battle of the Chosin reservoir in the Korean war and the battle of Iwo Jima in World War II. Regardless of the environment or time the Marines continue to improve and win the battles of the future while ensuring its principle of Mission First, Marines Always. The Marine Corps has always put the mission first while ensuring the welfare of their marines through the day-to-day improvement on realistic training, Small Unit Leadership, and Espirit …show more content…
“Esprit de corps means the “spirit of the body” and has long captured our Marine Corps sense of camaraderie on and off the battlefield” (Stallard, 2018, 78). Espirit the corps in the Marine Corps gives marines a sense of belonging and pride of what they are doing on and off duty. Without Espirit de Corps there would not be wars and battles won as those in their legacy. Espirit de corps can bring a squad, platoon and even battalion together because it uplifts all those around to carry out the mission as one team with keeping those in mind around as a family. With Esprit de corps marines know that the Marine Corps is in their best interest and will take care of …show more content…

He demands and receives maximum support from subordinates through invigorating leadership and direct supervision. *** HAS MY STRONGEST RECOMMENDATION FOR THE NAVY AND MARINE CORPS ACHIEVEMENT MEDAL!
Marine casualties were the highest in the Corps history up to that date. Caught in open fields or in densely packed woods, the French advised the marines to turn back. This they refused to do. U.S Marine Captain Lloyd Williams said in response to this, “Retreat? Hell, we just got here.”

The history and self-identity of the United States Marine Corps are based on operations in foreign environments. Since 1898, the United States military has been intervening in abroad. However, some of the US military interventions in other countries have been criticized, which include the Vietnam War. The Vietnam conflict is seen absolutely to have no sense politically, militarily, or economically, because “when a nation goes to war, it must have reasonable confidence in the justice and imperative of its cause” (page 34). Therefore, the dispatching of the underage recruits to that war was to subdue them unduly to adversary-induced psychosomatic disorders.
The U.S. Marine Corps has been fighting the nation’s conflicts since their founding in 1775. Their agile structure and unique capabilities make them the primary go to force for military operations and activities. Marines have currently and/or have been previously involved in several joint operational environments from stability operations in Haiti with the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH), to peace operations in Liberia with the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL), to counterinsurgency (COIN) operations in the aftermath of the war in Afghanistan, and counterterrorism operations in the Philippines with Operation Freedom Eagle. These military operations and activities are different in scope, nature, and presumed

In 2012, Headquarters Marine Corps Law Enforcement Section implemented the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (MCLEAP). The purpose of the MCLEAP program was to evaluate the performance of the Marine Corps’ Provost Marshal’s Offices and Marine Corps Police Departments, identify innovative methods for utilizing limited, existing resources more effectively, and ensure every Marine Corps Installation has an efficient and professional law enforcement capability. Subsequently, MCIWEST-MCB CAMPEN Mission Assurance established a Law Enforcement Accreditation Assessment Team to assess all aspects of the Provost Marshal’s Office and Marine Corps Police Department’s Headquarters, Operations, and Services sections, using the

The Esprit de Corps is the Army’s positive spirit to complete any barrier that stands in their way. This is especially helpful in combat situations with soldiers felling physical and emotional stress. Stewardship is the responsibility of the soldier or Army civilian to make sure the profession is carried on now and into the future generations. Stewardship makes Army professionals understand that their job is not just a job it is a way of life. Army Professionals except for Army civilians, are sworn into office understanding that their work is very
Getting the job done at all costs. Being able to balance life and all its challenges, and still continue to go on. When all else fails our ethics are what drives us, not just as Marines, but as people as well. This book has been an inspiration to all services.
Since I was ten years old, I have been a member of the Young Marines, a program dedicated to the enrichment of youth. Aside from my family and school, this organization has had an incredible impact on my life, not only providing me with many unique and amazing experiences, but by shaping the foundation of my character by instilling in me the three core principles of the Young Marines: Discipline, Leadership, and Teamwork and also by emphasizing the importance of community service. I have had many amazing and unique experiences as a Young Marine which included the challenges of promotion to become the senior ranking officer, learning many new skills such as CPR, teaching Drug Demand Reduction, leading and mentoring the members of the Unit, going on encampments and traveling. In my sophomore year, my Unit Commander, a Korean War veteran, selected me to travel with him to Seoul. Every few years he chooses a Young Marine to take to South Korea based on merit.
Importance of Rank Structure All throughout my life I’ve been taught by my mentors that leadership is grown, cultivated, and earned. What organization embodies that the most other than the Marine Corps. In life you are always going to have leaders whether or not you are one or striving to be one. Leadership should be respected even if you dislike the one charge.
Now also for accountability in the Marine Corps is one of the highest things that are always being hit on. So in other words, being accountable may mean for you to be at a certain place at whatever time was given for you to be there. Next, another reason why accountability is important is because if you don’t keep track of your gear and you’re missing something when the time comes and you need that piece of gear that you were missing then you would be in a lot of trouble. All together being accountable is; well to the Marine Corps being called mission ready. That is why accountability in the Marine Corps is very or in greater words beyond important.
