As I stood down with my weapon pointed, and my finger on the trigger as this massive man steadily charged towards me I repeatedly yelled "freeze, get down on the ground!" The next thing I remember was a BANG! As I returned back to my senses I could only think "how could a routine traffic stop go so terribly wrong?" Then I slowly drifted into a vast sleep. Its was Jan,1, 2005. I had just awaken and was proceeding with my usual morning routines. I was awaken by the scent of Mamas infamous blueberry pancakes and the usual irksome noise of my brothers going at it throughout the house and mama yelling for them to "sit down!". I had spoken to a few individuals but was still not the best of spirits considering the overall purpose of us being there. I couldn’t help but to think why hasn’t Steph 's murder been solved yet, what key evidence if missing to put the low life responsible behind bars, and who was that despicable low life. I realized that my devotion in wanting answers in Steph 's cause greatly influenced me into wanting to become a Investigator. I soon noticed myself spending countless amounts of time doing research and putting forth the effort into becoming an investigator. Years after graduating from high school I joined the police force in honor Steph and preventing anyone from going through what he had to. I hadn 't been there a week before chief gave me my first assignment; It was street patrol. A highly experienced vet in the force, Officer Stokes was assigned as my partner on this task. With this being my first actual assignment I must admit I had many concerns, and was overwhelmed with anxiety and the thought of failing but having a partner with such experience as Officer.
