I will be justifying this statement with five specific events, Vimy Ridge, Winnipeg General Strike, Chinese Exclusion Act, creation of the first batteryless radio and the Stock Market Crash. The first circumstance would be Vimy Ridge April 9, 1917. This would be one of the exceptional events that happened between 1914-1929.

Traverse City Michigan is a small town in Northern Michigan, with a port, an airport, a rail system running through it, and lots of roads. While there is most likely the most freight carried through trucking on the roads, I would like to talk about the shipping industry. Because Traverse City is located with access to the Lake Michigan there is obviously a great deal of materials shipped over the water. Water is the cheapest, besides pipeline, of the 5 major transportation modes; if a city is located on the water it makes sense to take advantage of it. According to the Michigan Department of Transportation in 2009 the port of Traverse City transported somewhere between 100,000 and 900,000 tons of freight.

For starters, I was born in the greatest country in the world, best state in the country, and raised in the most perfect city with the best environment possible because of my parents. The place I am describing -the place I call home- is Brownsville, Texas. While many people would argue that Brownsville is not the best place to raise a family because of poverty levels, low income, illegal aliens, poor schools, and our close proximity to Mexico However, all of these factors have actually helped shape me into who I am today. In addition, my parents were also born and raised here in Brownsville, Texas hence, they are both products of our local public school system BISD that is largely criticized.
