Ötzi “Backstabbed” in the Alps?
Ötzi is a prehistoric body preserved by ice. This body was thoroughly examined and yielded more information about Neolithic time. What was also found was that he’d been shot by an arrow. With this evidence an investigation began to find out why he died. This investigation branched off into many different theories. But one theory outways the rest. Let's start with who the Ice Man was and what condition he was found in. He was forty years old and lived five thousand years ago in the Neolithic era. Ötzi had many cuts and bruises. The Ice Man had a deep cut in his hand that was about three days old and a cut to the leg. He also had trauma to the brain suggesting a blow to the head. To the top it all off he had an arrowhead lodged in his back. This arrowhead is considered the death blow because it pierced a major artery causing him to bleed out. All of this shows his demise was not peaceful.
Moving on, the artifacts found on and around the ice man also provide crucial evidence. For one, Ötzi was a figure of importance judging by the rare copper axe that was found on him. The valuable axe not being stolen suggests the assailant did not want to get caught which would explain why the arrow

First the Ice Man was recently in battle. He escapes and travels up the mountain and the back down it. On his way down he meets someone from his tribe and the eat filling the Ice Man’s stomach. The pair head back up the mountain but his companion has intentions on killing him. The killer takes aim fifteen kilometers below Ötzi. The arrow is fired and pierces a major artery in the Ice Man’s back. After making it to the body the killer removes his arrow shaft to avoid being identified by his arrow and leaves the valuable axe to avoid recognition. The ice man lays there for five thousand years until he is
Perhaps the most common is the belief that Ötzi was fleeing from a battle when he was shot in the back by an enemy. There are several facts that discredit that theory. One is that after he was shot, Ötzi was hit in the head. Any enemy close enough to knock Ötzi in the head would also have taken his copper axe to use in the battle. This would not have been the case if Ötzi was not alone when he died, but fighting in a skirmish, or small fight.
Ötzi The Iceman was found 1991 by two hikers in the Austrian Alps. First police thought it was a lost hiker that died by freezing to death but then multiple tools from the copper age were found near the body and then scientists knew that this man came from the copper age. They Named him Ötzi the Iceman. Ever since he was found, scientist and geologist try to find out the murder case, why Ötzi The Iceman killed?
Archeology is the study of a human body analysis, which identifies many different characteristics detected through evidence of holism during the process of investigation of archeologists. To determine the life of the Iceman, also known as Otzi, would be to rely on his remains also found under the glacier, along with the discovery of his body, such as, a knife stone, arrows, copper axe and shoes of grass. At first glance these remains do not seem enough clues to determine anything about Otzi's life, but just studying the individual object like the copper axe shows he was probably a high dignity being in order to carry such equipment, which was used in the early stone age years for farming and hunting. Archaeologists also found arrows from Otzi's
The injuries on Otzi play a big role in this mystery of the murder. It was said that he was in a fight
5,300 Years Too Late Murder, hunting accident, spiritual ritual, was he killed on the run, or murdered by an acquaintance, all of these are possible results of Ӧtzi the ice man’s death. No one knows the actual reason Ötzi the iceman died. I believe that he was killed because of his wealth and knowledge, he tried to continue on with his journey but was fatally and brutally killed. His mummified body was found in 1991 by German hikers in the Italian Alps.
From carbon-dating, scientists believe Otzi to be around 5000 years old and have pieced together a range of details that inform us of these prehistoric times. There are a few questions people ask about Otzi; like why was he so high up in the alps and how did he actually died? One theory suggests he was
One that seems to make sense is that he was assassinated by a clanmate who was jealous of his position. This is likely because of his copper axe, the arrowhead’s type and its location in his back and a large stone inside the cave which depicted the assassination. First, the Iceman’s axe was made of smelted copper which was advanced for his time, and signified that he was a man of power or position. Although a small detail, it would make sense that someone could have desired his status. In Ötzi’s time and culture, when people of authority were killed, their position would go to their killer.
The victim had no shirt or pants on, and there was a slice on the back of his neck and the back of his left leg. There was also the rope used to tie him up, which could not be identified by trace analysts because they had never seen it before. He wiped his knife clean on Eberle’s shirt, and left the
There is a lot of evidence for this theory, but, there is also a lot of evidence against; this will be explained later in this paragraph; When Otzi was found they x-rayed his body. This x-ray showed examiners of the body that he had may fractured ribs on his left side. It also showed skull breakages and a stone arrowhead in his left shoulder blade. Based on this evidence Murder was the cause of otzis death. SOURCE: https://www.pri.org/stories/2017-04-06/researchers-may-have-cracked-case-how-tzi-iceman-died.
Hoenikker devoted himself to researching and developing the impossible, but never stopped to reflect upon the effects of his research on society. After a Marine general propositioned him about a substance that could freeze mud on instantly, Hoenikker insisted that it was impossible. However, Hoenikker made it his goal to create this frozen substance. In fact, he killed himself experimenting with the substance called ice-nine, “... on whose label he had written: ‘Danger! Ice-nine!
A blow to the head, a wound on the hand, and an arrow to the shoulder. These 3 key evidences show that Otzi the Iceman was assassinated. X-rays show that there is an arrowhead in his shoulder. This caused a blood clot that could have helped Otzi’s death. There was also damage to the head.
