Otzi the Iceman Otzi the iceman is a mummy that holds an ancient history that arouses our curiousity. How did Otzi die? A kind of mystery that compels us to solve. But each and every time, new questions unveil themselves. Was Otzi assasinated? Or otherwise? I think he may have had an assasination attempt on his life. Otzi was found in the Otzal Alps on the Austrian and Italian border. With him, was a copper axe and other belongings. Scientists discovered Otzi was from the past about 5 thousand years ago. During that time, copper was very valuable. Only those high in power possessed them. And Otzi, possessed a copper axe, which tells us that Otzi may have been an important figure back then. The position he held, may have been either a shaman, or a religious leader. As for him being a shaman, Otzi had with him medicinal ingredients that had high value. And with Otzi being a religuous leader, explains the tattoos on his body. Because of the power he held or the actions he made, that caused dispute with someone …show more content…
Because of jealousy or revenge, someone hired assassins to kill Otzi. But the perpetrator failed to do so, which led Otzi to fight the assassin. He had a one on one battle with his enemy until a second assassin emerges from behind him and shoots him with an arrow. The arrow misses his heart and his organs, but ruptures a vital artery in his shoulder. In an attempt to pull it out, he snaps the arrow in half and tries to escape. But another enemy blocks him and forces him to face all 3 perpetrators. Which explains the 3 different blood DNA samples on Otzi’s weapons (died in battle theory). He then escapes but collapses onto the snow. He bleeds out and enters the state of Esanguination, and dies from Cardiac Arrest. The hypothermia theory plays a role in his death too. Due to his environment, he succumbs to the cold which speeds up his death. The person/people who ordered his assassination probably benifited from his
Perhaps the most common is the belief that Ötzi was fleeing from a battle when he was shot in the back by an enemy. There are several facts that discredit that theory. One is that after he was shot, Ötzi was hit in the head. Any enemy close enough to knock Ötzi in the head would also have taken his copper axe to use in the battle. This would not have been the case if Ötzi was not alone when he died, but fighting in a skirmish, or small fight.
You will be surprised by the results. My claim is that Otzi was murdered by a group of early humans. The reasons I think Otzi was murder are according to “Digging for the Truth,” Otzi had minor cuts on his hands which means Otzi could have had a fight and was defending himself by holding his hands up and an arrow in his left shoulder. While reading, “Iceman Mummy 20 Yrs
Iceman died from being stabbed in the back during hand to hand combat. Evidence in the text suggest that there were wounds found on Iceman's hand. This shows that he participated in hand to hand combat. Also, there was a thumb wound that had no scar, which means that the wound was fresh. There are also DNA samples from Iceman's weapons that contain DNA from four different individuals.
Archeology is the study of a human body analysis, which identifies many different characteristics detected through evidence of holism during the process of investigation of archeologists. To determine the life of the Iceman, also known as Otzi, would be to rely on his remains also found under the glacier, along with the discovery of his body, such as, a knife stone, arrows, copper axe and shoes of grass. At first glance these remains do not seem enough clues to determine anything about Otzi's life, but just studying the individual object like the copper axe shows he was probably a high dignity being in order to carry such equipment, which was used in the early stone age years for farming and hunting. Archaeologists also found arrows from Otzi's
The injuries on Otzi play a big role in this mystery of the murder. It was said that he was in a fight
These included a dagger, a fire-starting kit, half-built arrows, and a bow. Most interesting of all the items that were found around him was a copper axe. This item leads historians and researchers to believe that he was some sort of figure of importance, such as a shaman or leader, during his time alive. It has also been discovered that Ötzi is covered in ink. Just over 60 tattoos have been found on his body, and are believed to have been used as some sort of pain therapy.

Winter Dreams By F. Scott Fitzgerald is a short-story telling of a 14 year-old caddy named Dexter Green. In this narrative Dexter meet Judy Jones while working at his golf course. As the story continues on, Dexter becomes severely infatuated by Judy. However Judy may be beautifully the outside as she ages, but her insides say differently.
One that seems to make sense is that he was assassinated by a clanmate who was jealous of his position. This is likely because of his copper axe, the arrowhead’s type and its location in his back and a large stone inside the cave which depicted the assassination. First, the Iceman’s axe was made of smelted copper which was advanced for his time, and signified that he was a man of power or position. Although a small detail, it would make sense that someone could have desired his status. In Ötzi’s time and culture, when people of authority were killed, their position would go to their killer.
Mark Smith the author of “The Road to Winter” displays that affliction brings out the very finest and least in people. The story is centred the main character Finn. He survived a deadly virus that wiped out his entire town and he has to adapt to a life by himself. Finn lost his family and friends and had to survive on his own. He learnt to kill animals, defend himself and a whole lot more.
Achebe writes, “ Okonkwo drew his machete and cut him down. He was afraid of being thought weak” (Achebe 63). Many other members of the tribe would have let their son be killed because of the unwavering faith many have in their religion and the decisions of the elders. However, not many would do it themselves. This scene truly showcases Okonkwo’s fears.
There is a lot of evidence for this theory, but, there is also a lot of evidence against; this will be explained later in this paragraph; When Otzi was found they x-rayed his body. This x-ray showed examiners of the body that he had may fractured ribs on his left side. It also showed skull breakages and a stone arrowhead in his left shoulder blade. Based on this evidence Murder was the cause of otzis death. SOURCE: https://www.pri.org/stories/2017-04-06/researchers-may-have-cracked-case-how-tzi-iceman-died.
A blow to the head, a wound on the hand, and an arrow to the shoulder. These 3 key evidences show that Otzi the Iceman was assassinated. X-rays show that there is an arrowhead in his shoulder. This caused a blood clot that could have helped Otzi’s death. There was also damage to the head.
Okonkwo wanted his tribe to fight back the missionaries in order to protect their Igbo culture but his persistence only led to his downfall. This can be seen when Okonkwo makes a rash decision to kill a messenger thinking Umuofia would fight back but ended up not fighting, “The white man whose power you know too well has ordered this meeting to stop.” In a flash, Okonkwo drew his machete. The messenger crouched to avoid the blow. It was useless.
