It is a beautiful moment when you have complete clarity of what you want to be when you grow up. I have always had an interest in pregnancy and infants. I was always watching birthing shows on tv when I was a young but I never really thought anything of it. Until I was about 16 I had no idea what I was going to be and then it hit me. A midwife, a job not everyone finds to be so glamorous but to me it is all I dream about. Once I realized what I wanted to be in life, I saw how everything around me and in my environment had been preparing me for it. Growing up on a dairy farm, I got to experience a lot of things most people wouldn’t. I was always around cows giving birth and I just loved to sit on a stole and watch the miracle of life happen.
The career that fascinates me and what I plan to be when Im older, is a Dental Hygienist. A dental hygienist is a stressful job, but it helps a lot of people. You are helping people get better teeth and even look better, because when people have straight pretty teeth, they seem to have an upgrade in their looks. I haven’t always wanted to be a dental hygienist, I had many other career choices. But, something about making people smile when I’m the reason they look good doing it makes me happy.
One warm august night my sister Ellie and I watched the film Into the Wild. The story of Chris McCandless reconnecting with nature and going out on his own was profound to me. My mom was an avid hiker when she was younger and even climbed Mount Olympus, but as she’s gotten older and kids and life have taken over hiking hasn’t been much of priority. After the movie ended I told her I wanted to go on a short backpacking trip by myself before I had to go back to school and immediately my ten year old sister wanted to come with me. I agreed and we spent the next twenty four hours planning, packing and figuring out exactly where we were going.
“Set,” Bang! The gun goes off and I quickly shoot ahead of the rest of the field. My strides long and quick as I sprint for the track. I can’t hear anyone behind me, I must be a good 10 meters in front of everyone else. I run around the track and continue to sprint across the field back to the crowd of parents, friends, and girls soccer players who were forced to attend this last cross country meet of the season.
Ultrasound Technician They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but in order to see your baby, your brain, or even the inside of your stomach. Upward Bound with Tarrant County College along with AVID at South Hills High School have guide me through my high school trajectory. During the last 3 years AVID has helped me speak up and diminished my self-esteem issues such as speaking to other mates and creating what we called an AVID family. Upward Bound has been a catalyzer for me to learned how to managed my finances such as loans, budgets, and banking services. Since I was the lead of my family both organizations helped me become a more experienced person at a younger age. More than a college readiness program AVID and Upward Bound are the dispensers of life lessons and the nest of future leaders.
My Future Career, Nurse Practitioner A nurse practitioner is a nurse with a graduate degree in advanced practice nursing. When I was little I always said I wanted to become a nurse practitioner. It was something about being able to help patients overcome their illnesses that interested me the most.
Throughout my last two years of high school, I constantly struggled to determine my college and career goals. I always knew that I intended to obtain a career that involved service to others and my community, yet I could never envision a career that captivated my interest. My high school education and applying to college were never crucial concerns to me during the time. During the summer of sophomore year, leading into my junior year, my father had passed away unexpectedly, leaving my mother to raise me and my two younger brothers on her own. Since I am the eldest of my family, I gained more responsibility for my brothers.
“Know this, you can start over, each morning.” - Tyler Joseph. It was soccer practice and I was making my way to the field. I was about seven or eight years old. Unfortunately, I just couldn’t make that one shot.
Psychology Psychology, the career that takes understanding the behavior of an ordinary human into a deeper, more emotional meaning with mental connection. Psychology is a career that I’d love to partake for the reason that it defines the truth behind human behavior. It’s interesting considering not many people understand the way the brain functions and how the brain is linked to your emotions causing you to feel and act a certain way. Becoming a psychologist would make me happy because I’d have the sophisticated ability to understand people struggling with a mental yet emotional way. Helping others is one the best accomplishments ever.
Although graduating early means I will have more work than usual, I am perfectly fine with that. I can put in the work and the dedication to do what I need to do to finish early. By graduating early, I can start college early and get a little head start on things. Graduating early will push me to take risk that I’ve never taken. Entering the adult world will help me realize of what I am capable
Stepping into the Adult World During the Great Depression there were many hardships, because of this many children and adolescents had to acclimate to an adult’s point of view. Throughout my life I have also had a significant amount of experience stepping into the adult world. I have had an ongoing boxing match with Sydenham’s Chorea(SC). Sydenham’s Chorea is an extremely rare autoimmune disorder; there are about ? cases of SC per year.
Larry Smith was speaking some true words. Do not confuse passion with interest. Passion is deep down, that 's what you want to find. It is a deep down love. Interests are things you like but not love, its not a deep down love for something.
I Want to Read It 's kindergarten year and we are finally able to go to the library. I have been to a library before, but it was with my parents and they had to help.

The decision to become pregnant can be monotonous or planned. But, the emotional aspect of nurturing a life within you and then with you, is the actual feeling of motherhood.
