If you went around asking people at school if they participated in any type of sport or athletic. “No” will be the most common answer. That can be more many reasons. Most people see athletics as a waste of time and an inconvenience. Unfortunately, not many kids or adults know about the tremendous benefits of participating in athletics. They don’t know that it can help you become a better individual. Everybody should participate in some form of team athletics for it allows you to make connections, get in shape, and learn life lessons. First of all, participating in team sports enables you to make tons of friends. Almost everyone of my friends today, I have met through some type of sports. These friends already share similar interests with me because we are both playing the same activity. This leads to a much better connection. An excuse people will use is that they don’t like the other players on the team. When you are working together and trying to win games, you will automatically connect with them. It will even give something to talk about next time you see them. It is a great way to make connections with not only teammates, but also coaches. The coach works with you …show more content…
Playing sports results in tons of exercise. Not only will that make you feel good about yourself, exercise also helps you to control your weight, and build muscle. I have also learned through experience that exercise helps you sleep better as well. A big excuse that I have heard people make is that they don’t want to get injured. Getting seriously injured while playing a sport is actually quite rare. The advantages of participating in a sport outweighs the chance of injury. If you are still really scared of getting hurt, you can still play less physical sports. They can still help you get healthier. Sports are extremely important to your exercise and exercise is super important to your health. Therefore, you will feel much
Cheerleading should be a sport because of the requirements, definitions, and the dangers. You could go from point flyer to having to communicate by blinking an eye. Cheerleading meets the Woman’s Sport Foundation Requirements. One requirement is it must be a Physical activity which involves propelling a mass through space or overcoming the resistance of mass. Stunting, cheerleaders hold and throw other people into the air and push them up with their arms and legs.
While some believe that athletes should have their own choice at making a decision to go pro straight out of high school, they should not do so because they will not be able to manage their million dollar contracts respectively. Speaking of contracts, the NBA should eliminate guaranteed contracts for rookies drafted in the first round of the NBA draft. They should do this because a careless high school kid, could just go into the draft not knowing, or caring on how much they are going to make, with the lack of experience on handling millions of dollars. This is very unrepsonsibible for a teenager, and not only for the high school athlete, but also for the basketball association as well. This is because of there noncommitment to have these players
In the article named “Benefits of Teamwork In Sports.” the author, Wade Harle showed how learning to cooperate with others towards a certain goal in youth sports is what builds character, friendship and important life skills for players and also coaches. The friendships built throughout a team can last a lifetime for some players, and the journey of a team throughout a season is often stuck in your memory for a lengthy period of time. Also found in that article is, the teamwork in sports offer a way for kids to compete for something together. Although it is important to know that winning isn’t everything in sports, some competition can be great for people.

Every year you join a team with at least one person you don’t know. Nate Jakobs, a varsity baseball player and enthusiast said that in team sports, you have to work together to win games, and the trust formed while playing forms into friendships. Friends are important because they keep you happy and help you do what you love. I have made many friends from playing on the same baseball teams. You can make lots of friends from playing baseball!
paragraph 4). By playing multiple sports this can help you get more competitive and you can become an all around better player. Evidence of this point is illustrated by studies that have shown that many, “Athletes who compete in more than one sport have a lower rate of injury”(King paragraph 6). Although playing multiple sports is a significant commitment, “Participating in multiple sports builds different muscles and in turn can make for a better all-around athlete,”(King paragraph 6). You can build muscles in different parts of the body from different sports making you stronger than others.
Competitive sports provide a community which kids can work with and beat other teams with. “Playing a sport helps children develop social skills which would benefit them even when they grow older. Playing sports teaches them about teamwork and cooperating with others. They learn to interact with people from different ages” (Mahaseth). When these kids grow up, they can use these skills to be able to cooperate and talk with their colleagues.
You can enjoy the moments when you play with your friends and family as well as when you join a soccer team. You will be meeting new friends that you have not met before. It is helpful because you and your team will have rules to do when you play in the field, and they build trust with you which you can know everyone strength from weakness. Gaining a friend can increase your popularity which also at the same time will encourage you to play much better. For example, I have been playing soccer for a long time with my buddies, and they call me in every time there is a match.
Being on a team teaches the student some valuable life lessons. For example, being able to do tasks together, not alone, standing up for each other, and have fun while you can. Later on in life you don't want to have that feeling of regret from not playing sports when you had the chances to

The author Thelma Gomez, says “Playing sports is an important elemen5t in the lives of many American children.” And she is correct. Sports can make kids the next David Wright, the next LeBron James, the next Eli Manning, or the next Lionel Messi. The best part of sports is that you're improving your physical health, psychological health, social skills, and academic benefits. Physical and phychological health can benefit a child in many ways.

Nearly all Americans love sports but is it really worth it. In this generation, competitive sports has become more dangerous than ever sports experts are starting to worry that competitive sports has a more negative effect than a positive effect on children. Most competitive sports can lead to severe injuries, pressure which can lead the youth using illegal drugs, and all the money parents spend on their kids to play sports is ridiculous, and worst of all most children are starting to burn out of sports emotionally and physically. Competitive sports do not have a positive effect on all children because of the cost, pressure/injury, and enjoyment. Most people can all agree that competitive sports are awesome, most people root for their favorite teams, they bet on it, and best of all it has amazing health benefits.
My last reason is that it improves self-esteem levels; helps improve self-confidence and helps kids deal with pressure. This is why I believe competitive sports should be a part of all kids’ lives. One major reason demonstrating why kids should play
