Based on the research of the twenty-year-old unsolved mystery of who killed six-year-old JonBenet Ramsey one or more persons in the Ramseys’ family committed the crime. JonBenet murder continues to grab headlines and troubling questions still arise in her murder. In addition, there have been accruing opinions and questions in response to which member of the Ramsey family murdered JonBenet. The parents had a wonderful Christmas with their families and friends, but the narrative becomes a mystery once they arrived at home that night. It was also said the police officers who arrived noted there was no signs of a break-in. As I watched the documentaries in honor of JonBenet I needed to observe the entire days event leading to JonBenet kidnapping. …show more content…
I believed the scene was staged, to make it look like a kidnapping gone wrong, and a coverup as to who murdered JonBenet. Exonerating all theories including the suspicion of an intruder entering the broken basement window is unlikely, there was nothing disturbed on either side of the window. However, there was a smear under the window that also could have been caused by Mr. Ramsey in the summer. It had snowed previously and there was no evidence of snow or melted snow near the basement window. In addition, if there was an intruder the floor should have been wet and dirty. Not able to prevent tracking water inside the home there should have been a dirty wet footprint near the window. In a documentary, John Ramsey said when he discovered his daughter lifeless on the ground with her eyes clothes he knew she had passed. The fact of the matter is if he had the suspicion she was unresponsive why did he proceed to contaminate the crime scene. He proceeded to contaminate the body because he had the opportunity to contaminate the body without any witness present. The friend Mr. Fleet who searched for the missing girl with John, Fleet first instinct was to notify everyone leaving John alone with the
John picked JonBenét up and took her body upstairs, by doing this he basically destroyed the crime scene and forensics evidence. After JonBenét’s body was found the Ramsey’s stopped cooperating with the police and hired a lawyer. Could they be more obvious? And where is Burke
The crime could have been solved if it wasn’t for the mistakes of the first responders. Since the crime happened on Christmas Day, there were fewer people available to get to the scene. The police officers should have shut down the crime scene immediately and taken statements from JonBenet's parents. Also, unauthorized individuals were allowed to move about the crime scene while the investigation was in progress.
By focusing on development in children this would not have happened. The case of JonBenet Ramsey has captivated the nation for over twenty years, and it is one of the most famous mysteries out there. Even with all of the evidence that was found, nobody has been charged with the murder of JonBenet Ramsey. There are many theories as to what had happened;
It was found that there was a large list of things that were odd and suspicious to the case. First, the ransom note was written with a pen on paper that were both found inside the Ramsey home office and it included spelling errors that looked staged to be as if a foreigner who did not speak English wrote it. Moreover, when rewriting the note, it took approximately 21 and a half minutes to replicate, which seems odd that someone could spend that much time in their home without being noticed and without the fear of being caught. The 911 call made by Patsy Ramsey did not match the statements made by the family. Technology was used to enhance the 911 call received, which found troubling statements made by the Ramseys, including John saying “we are not talking to you” and Patsy replying with “what did you do?
Although I do firmly believe that Burke Ramsey assisted in his sisters' murder, I do believe it was most likely unintentional.
The crime scene in the case of the murder of JonBenét Ramsey was the home of the Ramsey family, with a home as large as the Ramsey’s the search for evidence took some time. The first notable mistake was the allowance of Ramsey family friends to enter the scene instead of clearing everyone from the crime scene as per common police protocol. Leading detective on the case Steve Thomas who wrote a book on the investigation and all other aspects of the case has been quoted as saying “Good police procedure would have been to empty the house immediately and take the inhabitants to the police station, post a patrol officer inside the front door, and allow entry only to authorized personnel. Another perimeter should have been established some distance away to preserve the grounds(Thomas, S., 2000).” With the introduction
JonBenét Ramsey, a six-year-old beauty queen daughter of Patsy Ramsey and John Ramsey found murdered in her home on December 26, 1998. This murder has yet to be solved, and as the years go by, the case seems to get colder and colder. As a result, there have been many conspiracy theories in this case. Many people have started to believe that an intruder murdered her, but what if it was someone in the house? Maybe someone very familiar with this home.
John and an unidentified friend went to the basement first and he found his daughter in the utility room (Casarez). That brings up the question of why didn’t John search the house when his daughter was thought missing? How did John manage to find her when the police didn’t? JonBenet was found with a garrote fashioned out of rope embedded deep within her neck. The same rope was around one of her wrists.
The only people that knew about that room were the Ramsey family. Along with this, John Ramsey, the father, was the one to find the body, right after the police searched the house for hours. The police never knew this room existed until after John found the body. Burke was also said to have a big history of anger issues. More examination led to finding stun gun marks and Burke’s DNA on JonBenet’s body.
’s murder. It is speculated that perhaps a burglar broke into the Ramsey home and took an unfortunate casualty, the Ramsey’s beauty queen. “The crime scene wasn’t sealed off properly after authorities arrived at the Ramseys’ home, and unauthorized individuals were able to enter and leave the house before the initial investigation was complete, resulting to evidence being compromised” (Solin). Going along with the idea in mind that the Ramseys were big entertainers, various workers had easy access to the home of JonBenet Ramsey and could have possibly let themselves in to perform the crime. These assumptions are weeded out by studies done that once again prove a forced entry to be out of the
Police were called the following morning to report that their daughter had gone missing. Police found a ransom note demanding 118,000 dollars, this never came to a complete investigation. Later that afternoon Ramsey's body had been found under a blanket in the basement. The detectives didn't do such a good job with continuing this case. There are multiple theories to this case.
Supposedly, the tests determined the “DNA belonged to an unknown male”. The DNA was checked through the FBI’s DNA database; however, there was match to the DNA. As of 2008, Patsy Ramsey has since passed away and the Boulder County District Attorney office made an announcement that due to “developments in DNA technology the Ramsey family is-no longer considered to be involved in the murder of JonBenét Ramsey” (####). Also, John Ramsey received a letter of apology from the Boulder County District Attorney who apologized for the public trial the Ramsey family faced after JonBenét’s
One of very first mistakes the Department made was that they did not search the house very thoroughly, nor did put the house on secure the home and the evidence within the home after the first arrived on the sense. The Police department should have made sure that nobody enter the home, nor left the Ramsey home, before they had the opportunity to search it, and question everyone in the home at the time of the event. With no doubt if the police would have searched the house when they first arrived on the sense, they would have found JonBenet in the cellar of the basement in the Ramsey home wrapped in a blanket. Allowing John Ramsey and a close friend to search the house for missing house hold items, and that allowed him to find his deceased daughter. The Bounder Police Department also allowed family and friends to enter the home,
The story of JonBenét's death is more complicated than a girl gone missing, JonBenét’s body was found in the basement of the Ramsey house by John Ramsey. The crime scene was compromised by people coming to the scene. Later, police claimed they did not search the house because the ransom note gave them no reason
Along with the dead body left in the Ramseys basement there was a mysterious note left by the killer of Jonbenet. The note that was left shows that only either the Ramseys or someone close to their family could have done the crime (Osbourne 42). In the note it states Mr. Ramsey’s financial status, demanding $118,00 from the Ramseys. Investigators have been trying to link specific evidence to the note such as fingerprints and writing samples but no results are coming up.
