Out of the many reasons to be a Hokie, the top of my list has to be the heart of everyone at Virginia Tech. When I first toured, I automatically found a sense of home and I remember thinking to myself, “Wow, I could genuinely envision myself belonging here.” Secondly, I noticed the bond that people have with each other and I wanted in on it. Visiting certainly gave me that family feeling, especially while walking around and recognizing how everyone would smile and hold the door for one another. Being a Hokie also means loving service to others, which I hold very close to my heart. I have always volunteered at many events throughout high school and it warmed my heart to realize that I can continue on with serving others and leaving an impact, while continuing my learning. I strive off of the idea that knowledge is power. I have always set myself to a high standard regarding my grades and which is obviously very important aspect when one is a Hokie. I was honestly delighted to know that students motivate each other and themselves to strive in and out of the classroom. Another reason I would love to be a Hokie, is the vast amount of love and school spirit that is present. I believe that the Hokie spirit lives on, even after an individual has graduated from Virginia Tech. The very last reason I want to be a Hokie, is the quality of education. This is the most helpful when it comes to my personal goals, Virginia Tech would be very helpful in giving me the proper tools needed to achieve my personal goals and
