Who has my best interest at hand? Is it the Democratic Party? Maybe the Republican Party represent me best. On the other hand maybe I should be an Independent Party. These are the question that people considered when choosing a political party. A political party is an organization of people which seeks to achieve goals common to its members through the gaining and exercise of political power. So these different political parties have political ideology, a certain ethical set of ideals, principles, doctrines, myths or symbols of a social movement, institution, class, and or large group that explains how society should work, and offers some political and cultural blueprint for a certain social order, with their members and each political party have different political ideologies and that’s why people choose the party they support based on their political ideologies.

The Republican Party, frequently mentioned as the GOP (Grand Old Party) is one of the two major contemporary political parties in the United States created on March 20, 1854, is the second most popular political party and is the rival with the Democratic Party. The Republican Party and the Democratic Party has almost nothing in common. The Republican Party believe that there shouldn’t be federal college loans, but instead private loans. The republicans, a member of the Republican Party, also believe that there should be low government spending and minimal involvement. They want the government’s role to stay as low as possible, letting the private part and individual citizens to form the state. The government should only pass and enforce regulations to ensure that the citizens’ rights and freedoms remain intact. Some of them include the Republican and the Democrats. However, James Madison, who is the “father of the government,” stated that our government is a “Republican-Democratic” government. Why do we need a republican-democratic government?

The Democratic-Republican and Federalist parties when formed when Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton had conflicting views when they were elected as heads of departments by George Washington. Their main role was to support the boundaries on the power of the national government and a powerful clarification of the U.S constitution. The wanted to rebuild a relationship with Britain, assumption of debt from the revolutionary war, and programs with encouraged manufacturing. Liberal Party of Canada The Liberal Party of Canada and Justin Trudeau lead a fascinating campaign which advocated for “real change” and brought them from 3rd place to a shocking majority government on election day. The majority was unpredicted by the polls which is another interesting aspect of this election. Closer to election day, the Liberals were leading the polls, however none of them anticipated a majority government. This may be attributed to the Liberal Party’s extensive use of social media and online communication which lead to a larger voter turnout from the 18-30 range- which typically opt out of voting on election day.

The GOP support Second Amendment rights, the right to bear arms, to ensure that everyone has the ability to defend themselves not only from criminals, but also from enemies trying to attack. Abortion is not viewed favorably by most Republicans and neither is stem-cell research. The Republicans are also mainly against LGBT marriage rights but not just because they do not agree with the idea, but because they believe the decision should be left to the states. The Democrats are the complete opposite. Democrats try to limit the Second Amendment as much as possible.
