In the play Romeo and Juliet, Juliet is to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. Juliet is to blame for the death because, she caught Romeo’s eye in the beginning of the play and allowed him to fall in love with her and kiss her all in that night at the capulet party, without actually knowing who he was or that he belonged to montague (which made their love almost impossible because of the rivalry). She also made some rash decisions without thinking of the consequences if things were to go wrong. Then in the end after his death that she caused, she ended up killing herself because of his death. In this scene Juliet is asking her nurse who romeo is, Juliet “Come hither, nurse. What is yond gentleman?”... Nurse “I know not” Juliet “Go ask his name.-- If he be married, My grave is like to be my wedding bed.” Nurse “His name is Romeo, and a Montague. The only son of your great enemy.” (Act 1, Scene 5 lines 126-135). These quotes from the dialogue in the play show that Juliet did not know that their love would be “forbidden” until after she had fallen for him with a kiss and now their relationship would be very hard to carry out, causing them to go to many extremes to fulfill their love. Juliet is to blame because she also made a very risky and dull decision to take a “potion” to fake her death causing Romeo to then hear from his close friend Balthasar (his connection to Verona and Juliet’s news as to how she is doing) and then cause his heart to break, causing him to go to extremes and kill himself to be with her. Romeo is convinced she is dead therefore it leads to him actually poisoning himself “O true …show more content…
Her choices and her dull thinking caused everything to go wrong from the start when she fell in love with a kiss and later found out they could not be together. Then leading them to go through many extreme situations, and ending with her choice of faking death and then actually dying side by
Many wonder who should truly be blamed for Romeo and Juliet's death. Could it have been the fact that both of their parents refused to let them see each other which cause this or could it have been Friar Lawrence's or the Nurse's fault for persuading and assisting what they knew would end with trouble. Many describe their deaths as an inevitable event that just couldn't be avoided but couldn't it have? Looking back and reading, it is believed that the Friar had the most influence on both Romeo and Juliet causing their deaths. It was even him who suggested that Juliet wait for Romeo in the tomb, which leads to Romeo killing himself since he supposedly believes that Juliet is dead.
Is Romeo genuinely the one to blame for all the deaths that occur in Romeo and Juliet? Two teenagers (Romeo and Juliet), met at a party, and fell in love at first sight. They kissed and eventually married each other. People were killed and one of the teenagers (Romeo) was at fault for one of the deaths, and was supposed to be exiled. The other teenager (Juliet) took a potion to seemed dead for 42 hours, then was supposed to be saved by the other teenager, according to Friar’s “plan”.
The troubles that we witness in Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare, is something that can not be blamed on one family. It has to be blamed on a single person. That person is Tybalt, nephew to Lady Capulet and cousin of Juliet. Tybalt did many things in order to “stir the pot” and cause unrest. For instance, Tybalt wants to kill Romeo at the ball held by the Capulets.
The Nurse was the first person to tell Juliet who Romeo was. This caused greater interest Romeo by Juliet. If Juliet did not know who Romeo was then she would have most likely given up on finding Romeo. Secondly, Juliet delivers a message to Romeo for them to marry. Like what Friar Laurence did this brought the two closer together.
Although many characters were to blame for the tragic ending, these characters were ultimately the main reason why Romeo and Juliet’s lives were cut short. However, despite the fact that William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet was written in the 16th century, it reflects similar types of problems that we have faced in the twenty-first century. Although we may not have the same problems like the plague or deadly family feuds that were during the 1500s and 1600s, we have several problems like the following recent tragedies: the Isis Paris Attack, the Zika Virus outbreak, the San Bernardino Shooting, and the Antigo High School Shooting. Clearly, tragedy is an inevitable thing and is not only one person’s fault. Tragedy can be seen anywhere whether
This play was about the two kids who were in love with each other. But there were some people who are responsible for their deaths. We going to find out who were the people responsible for their deaths. The three people who are responsible for their death are.
The Capulets and Montagues were not on good terms with each other. Unfortunately though, Romeo and Juliet fell in love with each other regardless if they are from opposing families. Because of these families bad relationship, Romeo and Juliet were forced to marry in secret instead of publicizing it. These two lovers could have been straight-forward to their parents about their marriage, but they choose not to. The Friar is also guilty to these lovers death, but he only thought that this relationship between Romeo and Juliet be the cure to their families grudge for each other.
When people (especially children) commit suicide, people usually want an explanation. In Romeo and Juliet, two teenagers kill themselves in the name of love, and by the end of the play, Prince Escalus and the rest of the characters need sometime to blame. There are many people who could be blamed for their deaths including the Capulets’, the Montagues’, Friar Lawrence, and Fate. While both families and Fate had a part in the tragedy, Friar Lawrence is mostly to blame. Fate is part of the reason that Romeo and Juliet die.
While many people could be responsible for Romeo and Juliet’s cessation, I think Romeo and Juliet caused their own deaths. Through Romeo and Juliet's over-dramatic, reckless, and impetuous behavior, you can see many actions that lead to their demise. They talk about ways to kill themselves while apart from each other, end up killing themselves in the end, and they got married, knowing their families would have never approved. Though some may argue that it is Friar Laurence's fault for giving Juliet the poison and marrying Romeo and Juliet, or the families because of their feud, Romeo and Juliet are accountable for their deaths. One main reason I think that Romeo and Juliet are responsible for their deaths is that they kill themselves instead of moving on.
Juliet, not knowing what to do, asks her nurse, who is her closest family member, who she should be with. The nurse who was originally on team Romeo and Juliet, has now decided Juliet should be with Paris. In the 1996 version of Romeo & Juliet by Baz Luhrmann the Nurse gives Juliet a big speech. She says that she might be a better fit with Paris. That makes Juliet mad and Juliet calls her a
when he finds out that Juliet is dead, but doesn’t know she faked her death. Then Romeo sets out in his sorrow to an apothecary and says, “Come hither, man. I see that thou art poor: hold, there is forty ducats: let me have a dram of poison, such soon-speeding gear as will disperse itself through all the veins that the life-weary taker may fall dead and that the trunk may be discharged of breath as violently as hasty powder fired doth hurry from the fatal cannon 's womb.” These quotes show you that Romeo is planning to kill himself because of Juliet faking her death, which Romeo doesn’t know about. In the end, Romeo kills himself by poison and dies by Juliet and then Juliet stabs herself and dies when she finds Romeo dead.
In the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, there are many characters who are responsible for the death of Romeo and Juliet but Friar Lawrence is the character that is most responsible for their death. Juliet is a beautiful 13-year-old Capulet. Romeo is a handsome 16-year-old Montague. Their story takes place in the 14th century in Verona, Italy. The Montague and the Capulet families don’t like each other.
Juliet was at fault for her and Romeo’s death because she stabbed herself. Due to Juliet’s “untimely death,” Romeo poisoned himself, thinking that she was dead. When Juliet woke up and found Romeo dead, she took Romeo’s dagger and stabbed herself. ”This is thy sheath; there rust, and let me die”(V.III.170). These were Juliet’s last words before she stabbed herself with the dagger of the man she had driven to poisoning himself.
Romeo killed himself because he thought Juliet was dead and he did not want to live without her and that is why Juliet killed herself, too. Romeo and Juliet are not the ones to be ultimately blamed for the death the Nurse and Friar Laurence are the ones to be blamed for their deaths. Friar Laurence is one of the people to blame for the ultimate deaths of Romeo and Juliet. He married Romeo and Juliet and did not tell anyone but the Nurse. Romeo and Juliet wanted to get married because they wanted to end the feud between their families.
Nurse bring me the bottle, I need to drink it, I don 't want to marry Paris. Is this the way to do it though, it is isn 't it? You know what I will take this for my Romeo. I hope this works if it does don 't worry Nurse I will wake soon”(Shakespeare 4.3.14-50). During this moment Juliet is debating if she should or should not take the potion, if she did he family would believe her dead.
