Characteristics Of A National Junior Honor Society

Service, scholarship, character, and leadership are the four pillars that make the National Honor Society stand out from other organizations. Espousing these pillars, I find giving back to the community very important, which I show through my service with my church, ELO tutoring, and NHS activities including the OGES Holiday Shoppe and FHS tours. As an officer of the NHS, I will ensure we incorporate a variety of service opportunities to maintain this crucial aspect of our organization. It is a great honor to be nominated as a member of the National Honor Society. There are many reasons why I want to take part in NHS. One reason why I want to be in it is to continue to grow academically with people who have the same goals as me. I want to be encouraged, not discouraged by the people around me. If I get into NHS, it will give me a lot of opportunities to be a leader. Another reason why is I will get the opportunity to serve my local community; doing more service work will help me to be better as a person. Being in NHS will help build who I am as student. National Junior Honors Society needs people who are hard working, and are ready to get the job done. I should be considered to be in National Junior Honors Society because I show scholarship and leadership, I have done many community service activities, and I show character and citizenship.

The first reason why I should be in National Junior Honor Society is because of my leadership skills. The first example of my leadership skills are applied to my youth group in the Cecilton Parish. I am the treasurer and help with the Ideas for fundraising. We, as a group held a spaghetti dinner for the church and I managed the money and the setting. Pursuing this further, I actively show leadership in school. I am very active in the classroom environment. I love to lead the groups and help organize when and what needs to be done in a project. I also help the group stay on task and help them when they need it. One final example of my leadership, is seen in the after school

As an individual i have a lot of good qualities, like being a leader and helping people when they need it or standing up for what i know is right. I have a lot of good qualities and I think that my good qualities should be spread throughout my school and community.

There are several different qualities that make up who I am as a person, but there are four that stand out when it comes to being a National Honor Society member. These include character, leadership, scholarship and service.

The National Honor Society is built upon four founding principles: Scholarship, Character, Leadership, and Service. I have a high school life filled with dedication to these four principles on the Spiritual standpoint, the Familial level, the Community level and finally at the National level. Moreover, I did begin my dedication to these same four principles even before this starting with the Boy Scouts of America and this commitment will continue along with having a rich future when I reach my fullest potential.

I am sincerely honored and excited to be considered for membership in the National Honor Society (NHS). I believe NHS’s ideals are qualities needed to succeed in both high school and in life. I have learned in order to maximize my personal growth, it is important to dedicate myself to, not only grades, but to leadership, service, and community. Other qualities I utilize daily are respect and humility towards others and towards myself. Prioritizing is paramount to be well-rounded as I balance high honors, varsity team sports, work and community service. These attributes have helped lead me to my academic achievements and service to others. I believe that my character is defined by these qualities which is what is ultimately presented to others and the community through my attitude and actions.

Over the course of my academic career, I have developed several positive traits that make make me a qualified candidate for National Junior Honors Society. My experience from being in a variety of school clubs and leadership positions has equipped me with the necessary character traits for an aspiring National Junior Honors Society member.

I guarantee you will discover that while public service improves the lives and the world around you, the greatest reward is the enrichment and new meaning it will bring to your own life.” This quote clearly explains what service truly means to people that care about others from their heart. National Honor Society is an organization which recognizes students’ achievements not just with exceeding grades, but with service, leadership, and character. Serving others is an important and valuable pillar of the National Honor Society. Additionally, helping others has impacted my life and will impact my future in positive ways.

It is an extraordinary honor to be considered as a candidate for the National Honor Society. Being considered means I have achieved my goal in demonstrating my determination- in school and outside of school- and my willingness to aid people in my community. Being a part of such a prestigious organization is an enormous responsibility to which I will fully devote my time. Ever since I was a freshman, my goal was to work diligently to be among the highest scholars and to be accepted into this scholarly “hall of fame”. Through my relentless hard work and perseverance, I believe that I possess the four characteristics of a National Honor Society member- leadership, service, character, and scholarship.

I believe I display all of the qualities mentioned in the four pillars of National Honor Society. I am a person of good character who displays the six pillars of character in everything I do. I provide leadership and service in many ways and value education as a lifelong learner. National Junior Honor Society is the start of everything. This group helps set me up for my years to come. Being in the NJHS it helps me get into the one in high school, which looks really good one college applications. Having national junior honor society for both middle school and high school would give me a better chance to get into a college I really want to get into.

That's why I would love to have a leadership position in National Junior Honors Society. I'm specifically interested in being the president, but if I don't get it, I would love to fill another position. I promise that if given the opportunity, I will be a responsible, honest, creative, committed, positive, and productive leader. I will also do my best to show good character, leadership, citizenship, service, and scholarship because I know that these qualities are very important for the National Junior Honors Society and that they are also very important to me.
