J and H Our world will always be filled with good and evil. This concept is portrayed in many ways. In Robert Louis Stevenson’s mystery novella, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Jekyll’s actions are influenced by the Victorian Era. A few of Jekyll’s actions aren't always what he wants to do, but what he has to do. Jekyll creates Edward Hyde so he can do bad deeds, but not ruin his reputation. When his experiment was successful, “(Jekyll) sees for the first time… Edward Hyde,” which he transforms into so that he doesn't have to be good all the time (Stevenson 59).
