Gross corruption is when somebody is willing to procure anything out of greed or selfishness to gain money and power. One of many examples from “The Crucible” is Abigail Williams, Reverend Parris’s niece, she wants to be with John Proctor, but she is willing to anything to get rid of his wife, Elizabeth Proctor. Out of envy, Abigail accused Elizabeth of witchcraft, knowing that Goody Proctor would be executed. Envy is one of the toxins in our society today, and my assumption to get rid of envy is to praise each other, and be more grateful for what we possessed.
