Latina Women Are the Same As Anyone Else Being a woman in this world is hard, but being a Latina woman is even harder. Being a Latina women in the US and in Latin countries are just as equally difficult. People always talk about discrimination against African-American and their past but every one always forget about the fact that Latinas have and still face with the discrimination in their work life and in their daily life. They have studies “that show that about 3 in every 10 Hispanic worker feel that they have been discriminated against in their employment and some report being referred to with racial slurs at work while 1 in 4 feel they are paid less and have reduced career advancement prospects than their Caucasian counterparts.”(Discrimination
At home, at school, at work, and many other places. Some of the common problems of gender inequality at work is the problem with the gender pay gap. The gender pay gap is the average difference between men and women's aggregate wages or salaries. According to Wikipedia, in the United States, the normal female's unadjusted yearly pay has been cited to as 78% of that of the normal male. Notwithstanding, various examinations from OECD, AAUW, and the US Division of Work have discovered that compensation rates amongst guys and females fluctuated by 5– 6.6% or, females acquiring 94 cents to each dollar earned by their male partners, when compensation were acclimated to various individual decisions made by male and female specialists in school significant, occupation, working hours, and maternal/fatherly leave.

As of 2015 women are only making between $0.76 and $0.80 for every dollar men are making. The pay gap does vary by each job, CNBC says “Of course, the pay gap varies greatly by industry. The disparity was largest — nearly 30 percent — between men and women in finance and insurance, without controlling for job title, education and years of experience, among other factors,” click here for link. As you can see women are clearly paid less than men of the same career and 83% of women believe that along with 68% of men who feel they are being paid more as well. 01 Mar. 2016. The American Action Forum believes that raising the minimum wage can do more harm than good and hurt the people it’s supposed to help. Job loss in the millions would happen if the wage was raised from $7.25 to $15. People in poverty before the increase would have trouble finding jobs because companies would have to have less positions to counter the wage raise.
Although women had attained a greater access of jobs and legal rights in the workplace, they still have a long way to go in terms of full equality. Women are still paid 80% of what men are paid, the gap even larger for women of color and elder women. In current times, women’s earning have stagnated, and pay equity isn’t expected until over 50 years from now. There needs to be further legislation to close the wage gap and give women the pay they deserve. The 2nd Wave of Feminism started by the women of the mid-twentieth century established new rights for working women, however, women are still struggling for equal pay and treatment in the workforce.
