The purpose of group learning and development is to ensure that all learning styles are catered for and the ultimate goal of sharing knowledge is achieved. When using a group to deliver something new each individual can call on a fellow participant to confirm understanding. 1.2 Explain why delivery of learning and development must reflect group dynamics When delivering to a group it is important to consider, what is the normal behaviour within the group? Who plays what role?
1) As an individual, what did you contribute/accomplish in lab this week? 2) What did you learn (individually and as a team)? 3) How can you or your team improve in the future? 4) As a team, what do you need to accomplish in lab next week?
I found the two co-leaders of the group and introduced myself as a Social Work student with Simmons College. They welcomed me to the group and said they were glad to have me. The group began a little later than the time designated for it to start. The beginning of the meeting was structured very clearly. The leaders began the group by introducing themselves and explaining a little bit about what brought them to CoDA.
My self-perception is that I have that deer in a headlight look to myself when I’m in an uncomfortable position. These are things to remember for when I have to interview for a job, that what I may think and feel, isn’t always reality. Last semester I had two group presentations. I am sure that there will be more of them so this class has prepared me to feel more comfortable and be more prepared for when the time comes.
PO had moderate participation in the group discussion and activities that included: understanding what appropriate behavior on th job is; sharing the importance of wearing appropriate clothes and looking the best at work. PO was engaged in cross talking at times, but was able to focus back on topic after reminding. PO shared his work experience with peers, stated that clothing has an effect on both the wearer and the observer. PO actively participated in the check-in activity, reported he is doing “Okay” in treatment, and that he has no urges or cravings to use. Group topic: Identifying High-Risk Situations PO was minimally participated in the group activities that include: learning the terms of high risk situation, early warning signs,
A middle range score is for a pet with a medical condition that can change over time, is currently stable, and being monitored with the help of your veterinarian, with medication adjustments when necessary. You score your pet high on the scale when they are happy and healthy, with no medical issues beyond routine preventative
The purpose of the group would be to set an atmosphere where Muslim people can come together and share experiences that they may face in the workplace and support one another with different approaches or methods that may help one cope. Some of the goals that I feel would really help the group members reach the overall purpose of the group, is to create a warm, safe and friendly atmosphere. I feel as though setting specific rules and discussing the importance of confidentiality should set the tone for the group. As a facilitator, it’s my role to make sure I share who I am and state my purpose for the group. I shall identify with this specific group by doing my research on the culture itself and understand their beliefs and traditions before the first session of the group.
Garcia Group topic: Break the Behavior Chain PO was on time for OP group and moderately participated in the group activities that include: learning the behavior chain sequences; identifying personal behavior chain for high risk situation; discussing alternative ways to break the destructive behavior. PO completed “Behavior Chain” mapping exercise and openly shared with the group members about the behavior that she would like to change with. PO stated “I try to be a good sister and a good daughter. I am working on rebuild my relationship with my family. It is hard, but I am trying.”
After living in Los Angeles for a while, the more I acclimated with the social setting, the more similarity I found with the social context that I experienced in Bangladesh. Even though I was accustomed to seeing people lack basic health care, I was shocked by the transparent disparity in the underserved community in America, in arguably one of the most developed countries in the world. It was puzzling to see that even though America has the best health care, there was still a lack of care in the underserved community. Chronic diseases like diabetes, heart disease, and so on, are more prominent in these communities. Lack of education, socio-economic status, and even gender impacted the way people sought health care. With every passing day,
It will briefly discuss the feedback from my tutor and the group members. And finally the conclusion. Definition of group According to Berg, Fall, & Landre (2013, p 195) "Group work is a broad professional practice involving the application of knowledge and skill in group facilitation to assist an interdependent collection of people to reach their mutual goals which may be intra-personal, interpersonal, or work related" Planning In order to prepare for our group facilitation exercise, my colleague and I sat together for the first time in class to plan and discussed our understanding of what we thought was expected of us.
To ensure effective learning experience methods such as small group discussions are beneficial,
With 9 to 18 year olds, additional guidance may be required in instructing the participants in offering and receiving feedback in group. This can be addressed in the initial stage while establishing group norms. The leader may ask the group participants, “how would you like to phrase statements of constructive feedback?” and provide examples if they do not have immediate ideas. This practice allows the participants to speak and listen to others about effective
I currently work as a Supportive Staff Supervisor, in the Special Education Department, for School District 93 in Idaho Falls. My role is to provide support to 170 supportive staff, teachers, and all students in Special Education. In 2010 I started working for the District as a PSR Worker in the serious emotional disturbance (SED) elementary program. Five years later my Supervisor came to me and asked me to take over his role in the Special Services Department for a month, so he could go to the North Pole. The day he returned I resumed my previous position as a PSR Worker. That same day he came to the school I was working at and explained he heard great things about my work while he was gone. He told me starting tomorrow he wanted to
