Littorina spp, or more commonly know as the periwinkle snail, is a small robust species that inhabits the intertidal zone and are commonly used in the preparation of many dishes in countries such as England and China. Littorina spp commonly ranges from sizes of 0.5-1.5 inches long with dark and even banded shells which help it to withstand strong waves. There is no definite life span of the periwinkle snail however, the amount of food and environmental factors can play a role in how long they can
