Ella’s eagerness from her new freedom is cut short when King Edgar abruptly throws her in jail for attempting murder on the Prince. During the Return section of a Hero’s Journey, this event would also be called the Magic Flight or Pursuit. Next comes Rescue from Without, where the hero seems helpless and almost on the verge of dieing, yet someone rescues the hero. Thanks to Slannen and his backup from the forest, Ella only spends a short amount of time in jail. The new troop break Ella out of the jail and rush towards Prince Charmont’s coronation, where King Edgar plots to place a poisonous crown on the Prince’s head.
Once the prince is finished with the two evil sisters, Cinderella comes out and while taking off her dirty shoe, her foot fits perfectly into the shoe. The prince and Cinderella are finally together, the prince knows Cinderella was the mystery women he had been searching for all along since her foot fit into the shoe. Cinderella and the prince return to his kingdom and live happily ever after. While the Disney story and the fairy tale version of the stories both end with happy endings the fairy tale is written with much more graphic images than the Disney

After the story was told Milo is interested in saving the two princesses from the castle in the sky: “maybe we can rescue them,” said Milo as he saw how sad the Which looked” (Juster 78).

A notion of ‘over coming the monster’ becomes apparent as Rapunzel and the prince must escape and break through the witches’ wicked actions, in order to restore the prince’ sight and pursue
After he becomes king, the witches give him confidence again by tricking him and telling him that he is invincible. After Macbeth realizes that he was tricked, he fought Macduff to the death and ends up dying. A line from the song says that they will fight till its over, and by over for Macbeth, it means the end of his reign and life.
Marguerite Johnson, the main character of "Mrs. Flowers" by Maya Angelou, became selectively mute and emotionally scarred due to a traumatic incident. But when Marguerite meets a wise woman named Mrs. Flowers, she is able to find her voice again and discover the incredible power of words and the human voice. Through Marguerite's healing process and discovery, the theme is revealed, which is: words have the power to heal. This theme is shown when the two were walking to Mrs. Flowers's house. Mrs. Flowers tells Marguerite, " ' Now, no one is going to make you talk- possibly no one can.
In her short story “Marigolds”, Eugenia Collier, tells the story of a young woman named Lizabeth growing up in rural Maryland during the Depression. Lizabeth is on the verge of becoming an adult, but one moment suddenly makes her feel more woman than child and has an impact on the rest of her life. Through her use of diction, point of view, and symbolism, Eugenia Collier develops the theme that people can create beauty in their lives even in the poorest of situations. Through her use of the stylistic device diction, Eugenia Collier is able to describe to the reader the beauty of the marigolds compared to the drab and dusty town the story is set in.
