Judging from the case study at end of unit#1 read Spokane police department was in desperate need of modification and chief Mangan’s approach was a correct format. Conversely, if the department expects the police officers to perform their jobs with pride and dignity and to consider the seriousness of community policing, alterations had to be done to the department building. For example, fixing damaged pipes inside the building, refurbishing the workout room for officers, and investing in upgrading the officer’s equipment (Cordner, G., n.d.).
